"What do you usually say when you're surprised?"

I am sure some of you say things when being surprised. It can be foul words or good words. I remembered my granny always says that 'I am crazy' if I surprised her with certain statements. I sometimes make a joke on her that she just wants to attend a mass because of the priest. 'Do you have a crush on this young priest?' Of course, she will be surprised and described me as a crazy person. She knew that it is plainly a joke. 'Do you like playing a joke on your friends, relatives, or family?' I play jokes on my colleagues and friends all the time. Sometimes they just have to literally tell me to stop. Our boss was serious one day and i joked about him as- "Ahh Menopause does that!!". Pls note he is a MALE!!

I am sure you are a natural joker. It is a good thing he did not say 'andropause.' It is the term for men instead of menopause.By the way, welcome to myLot.

I just read about a joke that some employees played on a new manager. The old manager was laid back and they could dress in jeans and T-SHIRTS. The new manager wanted them to dress nicer and make their cars a bit cleaners. So they complied. Then he sent an email out saying the owner was coming by and they needed to be in their best attire, have the office spotless and clean their cars. So after pulling some strings, the manager and owner come in and they have these super fancy cars, like Lamborghinis, the office is spotless and everyone is in ballgowns and tuxedos. It made me laugh so much.

I can understand that some people are not into making jokes with others. As for me, I do this only if the person is game with jokes. We sometimes need to be sensitive when doing this.

My expression is 'Oh my god' when I am surprised. But I don't usually join conversations especially during office hours because I usually have a lot of tasks that needs to be completed almost every day..

@Shavkat Yes, and sometimes even Saturday and Sunday I am at the office and still doing my work. We don't have overtime pay but we can avail of compensatory day off.

@ARIES1973 I can also do this, especially in the field. It is really overwhelming to do the paperwork at that time. A few weeks ago, I visited them because I need to have recommendations. They were asking me to re-apply and work in Abra. I turned them down for now.

When I was still working in the local government agency here, nobody can talk to me. I can feel that there are so many tasks and I even bring home my work at home before.

When I am really surprised I go speechless. Well, I am jovial and like to joke around and laugh with my family and friends.

I am a jolly person. I must admit that I cannot stand being in dramas of life. But I am not escaping from them though.

@arunima25 Thank you for appreciating my attitudes towards the drama part. I knew the fact that life is not like having a bed of roses. I even considered these personal problems as gifts from God.

@Shavkat Like your attitude. We can't and should not escape the challenges and drams of life. And your sense of humor definitely helps to sail through tough situations.

If I were surprised intentionally and not aware of it, I might curse this person.

I don't usually, but I saw a funny one on a T.V. show called "Welcome to Plathville". The oldest son was driving with his wife and they were in a convertible. There was a button on the rearview mirror and the wife asked "What does this button do" He looked at it and goes "That's the ejector seat". The wife confusingly asks "Ejector seat?" He goes "Yeah, all convertibles have them incase you get in an accident, you press that button and it ejects you from the car." She was so confused and goes "Are you pulling my leg?" and he goes "no, your leg is over there." The whole scene was so funny.

I find it funny, too. I haven't seen this TV program, but I am sure that it is entertaining to the viewers. I sometimes laugh out loud when funny scenes like this. I can imagine how she acted so innocent and the hubby is quite devilish to a car's feature.

I am good at faking my facial expression when joking. And when I am surprised you can only notice it on my facial expression. I am a quiet type of person but they oftentimes tell me that I am funny... weird... and crazy. You reminded me of a Lady friend who used to say P_u_k__ Mo when surprised. Imagine that in front of the boys.
