It's 3.30am local time and it's truly storming

OMG there's a real adult storm raging outside now. They said on the wheather forecast earlier tonight it would be a bit stormy overhere, but hell this is not a youngster playing around a bit. The tiles on our roof just 'spoke' to me. Luckily I haven't heard them falling down yet. It's a South-West storm, that means we get the full blow right on the front of our house. North-West would be so much worse. Must be fierce gusts of wind because they come and go. The big trees along the road are roaring so loud. Of course it's way past my bedtime, have been watching CNN and was just planning to shut down my pc. We always get the full blast, because there's nothing around miles to break down the wind, it's all open country here. I know that our storms are nothing compared to tornedos and hurricanes, but sometimes these storms are still scaring the hell out of me.

When there's nothing in the way to break windy weather it can be quite spooky I have to agree. At least it's the front and not the area that would be even worse. Do you unplug your router when the storms are this fierce?

@TitiaG some of our weird are underground but it's mostly the newer homes or the past twenty to forty years. My house was built before I was born and everything is above ground. My dad was an electrician and taught us to unplug the tv when it was stormy. I still think that way.

Don't need to unplug my router when there's a storm, all electricity is underground in the Netherlands. Sometimes when there's a severe thunder and lightening storm, I unplug my pc.

Normally I don't mind storms, except when the ceramic roof tiles start to flap.
