I decided to clean out my wallet rather than myLot. I’ve only used it to whip out credit cards since our return from Florida in early May.
We rarely use cash anymore, but we keep it on hand for emergencies.
Apparently, before leaving Florida, I must have stuffed my wallet with whatever cash we had left down there. I didn’t find too many $50’s. I did however find several $100 bills and lots of $20’s.
I put it in the safe for “safe” keeping. lol
Cash isn’t “in” right now, but it’s nice to have.

Germans do have credit cards, too, but they're rarely used for everyday shopping. The normal way is to pay cash. I prefer this, too. One is much more careful if one sees the banknotes leaving the wallet. If people pay with a credit card, they don't have the same feeling and often buy more than they should.

No. I know one restaurant that's still cash only. And, cabs are still cash only. We have limited accessibility options, so Uber and Lyft aren't really my go-to option for transportation.@TheHorse

Roomie pays his rent in cash so I have some on occassion, but sometimes I don't even spend any of it. I just put it toward the mortgage.

The other day I cleared out more stuff from the garage. I came upon a ziploc with birthday cards from my son's party when he turned 5. I looked through all the cards and found money and gifts cards . . . good thing I didn't just toss that bag out !

When I returned from the US after the package tour I had a hundred dollar bill with me which I just could not find and thought I had thrown it in the bin along with other unwanted stuff. When cleaning the cupboard I found it stuck somewhere after a long long time. Used it to get some stuff from the US when my neighbour was visiting there.

It is always good to have a little cash on hand never know when you might need it.

I always keep $20 or $40 in my wallet. But I pay for virtually everything with my credit card. I don't want "airplane miles," or whatever. I am a Platinum Customer, or something like that, and get cold hard (online) cash when I make purchases. But it IS fun when I have a few hundred dollars in my wallet from music gigs or speaker restorations, and get to deposit them at my nearby bank machine.

Well you know. If it's not in right now. Go ahead and send it here. We've got an adoption and wedding to finance. Lol.

we do the same thing - keep a little cash in the house just in case.

@DocAndersen We had to pay for a couple of restaurant meals. I was afraid I’d have to wash dishes in the kitchen.

@DianneN you never know - it has helped a few times when we needed to pay for food delivery!
