Baked barbecue pork loin.
I like buying those big, long pork loins, especially when they are on sale. I cut them into slabs and cut a little for stir-fry, stews, and soups, freeze them, and use them a little at a time.
Very economical. I pay about $1.49 per pound for these and they go a long way.
For this dish I decided to bake them and pour on some barbecue sauce. This time I used Lillie's, which is a bit expensive, but very good. About $5 for a jar of this stuff, but worth every penny, let me tell you.
I seasoned them with a little No Salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Browned them a bit on each side. Then poured a little beer into a casserole dish, and set them in there.
I have a side of potatoes and carrots cooked in butter and broth.
This should be very good, and throughout the cooking process I will add a bit more barbecue sauce.
What's landing on your plate tonight?
As per the usual, the pic is of the dish before it is done.

A good cut of pork can rival any beef steak I say. One of my dreams is to taste any of a pig roasted over an open fire.

@RebeccasFarm I think it is better than red meat healthwise. But not sure by how much and to what extent.

Thursday's dinner included mashed potatoes, sauteed zucchini and onions, baked chicken thighs, and marinated artichokes. There was some left over so that will be my lunch today. Nothing for dinner. Maybe we will eat a bowl of pelmeni for dinner. That's Russian dumplings.
Your dinner sounds yummy. Oh, if only I ate pork...

@porwest I never thought I'd ever give it up. Or shrimp, clams, lobster, crab, scallops, mussels, etc. And yet here I am.

@lovebuglena Yikes. You have given up most of the good stuff. Is living even worth it?

@porwest agree with you 100%. I like pizza straight out from the fridge.
Cold pizza is the bomb!

Sounds great. I had leftover chicken tenders, mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts from Longhorn Steakhouse.

@porwest Our favorite is Texas Roadhouse. It's the furthest away; so we usually only go there when I have a doctor's appointment close by.

@LindaOHio I don't mind Texas Roadhouse at all, and in fact, have eaten there many more times than Longhorn. Both are close by us though.

That sounds really tasty. I like to season my own pork loins, rather than buy the pre-seasoned ones.

99.9% of the time any meat I have is unseasoned when I buy it. A place we used to frequent, which was a meat shop in West Allis, right outside of Milwaukee, called Rupena's had such a good "secret seasoning," I often had them season up my meats before wrapping them. It was good eats.
