Chanting Is Not My Cup of Tea...Urgh!

I have to confess something. In my kind of job, the virtual teachers need to sing nursery rhymes with young learner students. Doing this is not my cup of tea. Before having the classes with them, I need to do this. I am like a wizard chanter. If I am not feeling it, I let them sing these songs by themselves. Or, I will let the songs play from YouTube. Are you good at chanting with kiddies? Image Credit: cwit.com

I did have the moments with my little niece. The only difference is she is a fast learner as compared to them.

@rakski On some occasions, one of the family members of these students will be watching me. I don't mind.

@Shavkattrue and also they are your blood relative. And sometimes it is not only your students watching you and listening but the whole family as well

I think it is fine as long as the students can follow the beat. The worst scenario is they cannot read the words.

@Shavkat I wouldn't worry about the kids reading the words... I'd worry more that you can't carry a tune.

I used to sing in the bathroom. Now, I cannot do this because I am not that close to my neighbors.

@May2k8 If I am so confident, I will. Lately, I only do it in a mobile app and it can be seen by the members.

I tried my best to learn how to entertain children, especially disabled ones. Singing online is not for me.

@LadyDuck It is what I am whining about, too. When I had coachings before, I said that it is not my cup of tea to sing these kiddie songs.

I am glad that you are not with kiddies anymore. My babies are still young here. They are my baby nephew and niece. Another baby is along the way.

If it is a familial relationship is concern, I think I can deal with it. Having these students online needs to be a clown.

And here I thought you wanted to be in the choir. I would think it would be easy to sing with them. I'm sorry you find it so difficult. I've never thought about it.

I remembered that I hum when my niece is still a baby. I am sure your kids are chanting this song to their own kids now. Aren't they?

I think you should learn now,haha.. You should do it,push yourself to sing and dance in front of your student. I am not a teacher by profession, but i used to that when i am young people. I teached young ones and i need to sing with action in front of them. I am so happy with that..nice feeling.

I can do that as a good actor. Deep inside, I am refusing the idea. It is better to be trained as a parent with these young learners. As they said, "It is a learning process."

That's a good thing to do. If they are grown up, they will always remember you. In time, they will pass on to their own kids in the future.+

At some point, high school students do not have these nursery rhymes. If it happens, he or she is a slow learner. Honestly, I prefer them than primary school students.

You said it right. I wondered why I am a good performer with these students. I am pretending that I am not myself when seeing these nursery songs.
