How do you become a gamer?

I have been seeing many people on the internet talking about how gamers are making it big. My concern is are we not encouraging our kids to become glued to these games? Are we not making people to be more of couch potatoes? Am slowly seeing a society where people will stop appreciating careers such as medicine or teaching. What do you think?

In my opinion, I think there's nothing wrong with being a gamer as long as they're happy and excel in that field then it's fine what matters these days is they enjoy what they're doing while working.

For kids, it is better that they need to be controlled by their parents. For adults, they can earn from being gamers.

@mosherii I think most gamers can earn by live streaming. If I have the skill, I will also do it.

I see no problem with that. Everyone has their own choice to live. Why do you mean by slowly appreciating medicine or teaching? Not everyone has such skills.

Yes, really, I see a growing number of people making online/mobile games and social media influencing as their careers. It's not bad, actually, but I also see a decline of interest for young ones for other essential careers like becoming and educator or medical practitioner, or becoming engineers. Maybe because of the influence of technology?

Not it will stop. It already stop appreciating. I saw some nurses left jobs in hospitals and become influencers.

When it gets to this the society needs to rethink. We can't all be doctors but we can't afford to loose the essential service people.

For a grown up who decides that will be their career I have no issue. My concern is the underage who are not giving other things a chance. Some are even not concentrating on their studies,
