Marts vs supermarket

I used to buy our supplies in the supermarket before pandemic. But nowadays, supermarkets are always crowded. Supermarkets offer all the essentials you need unlike marts or convenience stores. But because of this virus, some people have opted to shop in mini marts. One of them is me. Even though i really want to buy in the supermarket, I can't stand the long queue. So for the meantime, I just buy our supplies in the nearest mart. A few steps away and we get there. It may not be complete but it is very convenient. What about you, do you have the same preference?

I go to my usual supermarkets, there is a limited number of people allowed inside, very few customers at a time.

@Janet357 If the store already has reached the number, you get a ticked outside and you wait in the car until they call your number. There were 3 people when I went this morning at 7, the maximum capacity of the store has been set to 75 people... I was safe.

Does it mean waiting in line for your turn?

I still go to the local supermarket here. To refrain from being in a crowded situation, I go there early in the morning.

@Janet357 I only do this every Monday. I do not open my slots for teaching in the morning.

I can't go to the supermarket, thanks to MCO. I can only go to ones when I working but my shopping time is pretty limited. It's already late when I ended work. So I'll make do with the marts in the town.

That is what I would do rather save the inconvenience. I buy online only. I have not been to the store for a year now.

Oh, what about the expiratiom of the products? I wish online sellers did not give you those goods that will stay for a few months only.

Our supermarket is great in that you never have to wait long at all. At the most, there might be one other person ahead of us but usually we can go straight to a checkout without waiting.

@Janet357 I have no idea but surely it makes good sense. No-one gets upset because they're waiting for ages. You can be in and out very quickly and of course, with COVID, people aren't hanging around others for so long. Maybe you don't go straight to a checkout as they don't have the girls standing there doing nothing but as soon as there is one or two waiting to be served, they call up another girl.

Oh I love it. Why is it like this? Am curious of the management style.

I order from a big store and have everything deliver now, until the pandemic is gone
