Lots of information is available on the suitability of taking supplements, vitamins and foods that heal One tends to get confused as there are countless recommendations. I have now, with the consultation of my doctor settled down to supplements, vitamins and foods that heal. I take Evion, Supradyn, Cod Liver Pearls, and besides my normal diet I eat boiled carrot, beetroot, sesame ladoos, and nuts. Do you think one can remain healthy just by taking normal food? I belive so. Our ansestors survived well before us, serving only on what food they could find. Some things would be considered unhealthy by today's standards. However, they lived healthy lives.... and so can we.

Much water has flowed under the bridge that has reduced the nutritional value of the normal foods that we eat and that I suppose explains why supplements exist.

I would think normal food would be enough . . . but I guess everyone sees "normal" differently.

@allknowing Oh, that is true too. Some things are seasonal. We have to balance it with other foods then, but what is "balance" is also seen differently.

@much2say I have ARMD (Age related macular degeneration) on one eye. I take Lutein a supplement that will arrest further deterioration but it also available in foods. Although I am taking some foods but I will soon get fed up of eating those every single day.

I get your point. What is recommended as healthy food is not available 365 days in a year.

I just eat normal food and still stay healthy. Only when I feel bad, I take vitamins.

In my humble opinion, not all consumed nutritious food will be absorbed by our bodies. It is best to have food supplements like vitamins.

I really do unless there is some heavy deficiency in some nutrient. I think you sound like you eat a very healthy diet.

Do you feel like it’s making a difference? I feel like I take a slew of vitamins and I don’t feel any better necessarily but do it because that’s what I am told to do.
