Preparations for spring garden landscaping

Most people will probably say that it is still early, because we are still in February, but believe me, it is a real spring here and that inspired me to start thinking about arranging the yard. I want to change something drastic. I found a photo with a part of the yard that is identical to mine (pictured above) and I liked it a lot. The difference is that my canopy is made of iron construction and I like wooden (I like natural materials) my floor is made of concrete (concrete exterior tiles) but I also want wooden (like this in the photo) It is a laminated wood (LLD) product obtained by gluing technically dried boards - lamellas. The advantages of this tree are: -There is no tendency to twist, the appearance of cracks is reduced to a minimum -High earthquake resistance (earthquakes) -Great fire resistance and -Short construction time I found a company that does these kinds of work and we've already talked, works are planned for April ... How do you like it? I can't wait for the works to start ... Picture belongs: lemont.rs

I think this would look very nice! My backyard has a concrete patio. It is and isn't an ideal place to sit. We need to do a lot of yard maintenance and getting rid of a few things we've stored back there. It used to be a place where the family came to relax.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Literally work inspired by this photo. The company seems serious to me, they showed me some more of their work but no, I decided - like this!

@ScribbledAdNauseum To be honest, there is a slightly stronger price for this standard here, but I think it's worth it, this treated wood doesn't rot in the rain or snow, so I hope I've solved the exterior in at least a few years.

I love this. We have wooden as well. The maintenance is a little tedious but it is nice just the same. You will enjoy this when it is done.

@CarolDM I can't wait for it to be finished, during the summer days, in fact whenever possible, even in the spring and late autumn we spend most of our time in the yard.

It's gorgeous. We replaced our wooden deck with Trex decking last fall and can't wait to entertain on it. We will never have to replace it in our lifetime.

@LowRiderX The processed wood never needs to be sanded or stained. It's much more expensive than wood, but we are thrilled with it. Now we are planning to get new patio furniture. It never ends with a house. lol

@DianneN Of course, the house is a bottomless pit, constantly looking for investment. I'm thinking, and I just wrote to Anna, I could make a glass garden later, during the summer I would keep it open (movable glass door) and closed during the winter, since the roof will be made of a material like glass, only it is 250 times stronger than glass, but the transparency is the same ... and I imagine drinking coffee or tea and it's snowing outside ... ohhh perfect !!!! But I'm just commenting, if we have more snow at all ..

@DianneN There are really a lot of options and materials here, I have never paid so much attention to it until I needed it. Of course, I had a rough idea of what it should look like, I wanted wood, but then I found out that there is so much processed wood that I hope I chose the right option.

Its very nice. Will your wood product be a composite product that won't require any annual staining? I think that would be so nice to have, but there are other factors to take into consideration. April will be here soon enough, I am sure that you will be glad that you made plans early.

@LowRiderX I am sure that you are very excited now for February and March to come and go so that April will arrive and the work can begin. I remember well the year that we had our old front porch removed and replaced with a beautiful new one. For us the waiting was not long, nor the hard part, it was finding the perfect contractor which was the challenge.

@Juliaacv Oh I'm very excited and impatient That's good, but I had to save a lot and give up various things so that I could afford this, but I don't regret a single euro.

@Juliaacv We agreed that the works would start as soon as the weather improved, the proposal of that man from that company was April, I agreed because it is not far and in the end he knows better than me when the conditions are ideal. There is no painting but there is annual maintenance, in spring and autumn, they tell me that if it is not exposed to direct sun or rain and snow then it is enough once a year. It will not be exposed to direct sun because my yard is on the north side, so I only have sun for a short time in the morning, after that the yard is in the shade ... it has its advantages but it also has disadvantages because I can't have flowers that looking for the sun. Oh and yes, they also have a maintenance service and it's not expensive, I could do that too but I don't have to know everything

I loved wood and 21 years ago when we built the deck with the hot tub those new materials were not available. Wood is pretty, but it demands so many cares.

@LowRiderX We used Iroko wood. It is a tough, dense, and very durable wood from Africa. It is often used as a substitute for teak, it is less expensive and it looks the same. I power wash the deck every Spring and I apply a special products. The deck has been installed 21 years ago and still good.

@LadyDuck Twice a year, I just paid attention to it. In spring and autumn. But I would say it's worth it. They even say that it depends, if it is not directly exposed to the sun or rain and snow, then once a year is enough, which is not terrible. They also have that type of service and it is not expensive and they end quickly. This species is not damaged as quickly as ordinary dried wood. I especially like it because it is not easily flammable, like ordinary wood. I have never had a fire problem but I like to take all the circumstances into account, here we say 'better to prevent than to cure'

@LadyDuck Yes, they say that this tree is durable, much longer than 'ordinary'. There are several types here like: Teak, Siberian Larch, Impregnated Pine, Cumaru, Ipe, Garapa, Massaranduba etc. I hope that this mine will last for at least 10 years

I grow plants all year round in my apartment! Management plans the outdoors for all the residents but with the lockdown very little social activities are taking place.

@GreatMartin My windows are on the north side and I don't have direct sun, so it's inconvenient for me to grow most of the plants, self-plants that don't require much sun.

I think that will be beautiful when it is complete. I hope when it is you will share a picture of it. I don't think it is ever too early to get ready. It's good to look around, plan and get jobs lined up to be done. My big job before it gets too hot and humid is to trim back our bushes and some tree limbs.
