It’s been sometime that l haven’t post about my aquarium. This is it after several months of learning so many things about my tank. It literally has grown big especially the plants which has established themselves and l just trim them every other week since they grow fast and spread fast. Algae in the tank cannot be avoided you just need to remove it when they are growing fast but l allow them to stay there as they help in cycling the tank and making the tank balanced.

You have some lovely fish. There used to be an amazing pet shop down the road from where I live and they used to sell lovely fish, including tropical and marine fish. I used to go there just to watch the fish, but unfortunately the shop closed down years ago. Probably due to customers like me who only went there to look and not buy.

Your tank is beautiful, I see you breed guppies, is the black fish a Molly? I also have a tank but I keep it as simple as possible for easy cleaning because of my busy schedule.

Not a full time breeder just love collecting those fancy guppies but l was able to have the female guppy bear about three frys. Yes the black one was molly. This one was born from the tank when l bought some mollies and gave birth on the tank her parents passed away some time ago. Now that molly gave birth to one.

Those rocks looks kinda heavy. But at least the fish enjoyed it.
Out of three tanks I have, this one had excessive algae which I removed some of it this afternoon. I was also advised to get an armano shrimp, but I just don't have the budget anymore. I used to have combined the last of my mollies and danios to the guppies. But at the end they became somewhat stressed. When I bought new set of mollies they will be set on a new tank. not so new though. My mistake then was not cycling the tank and put the fish immediately.

They say that when your tank has algae it is imbalance of something in the tank. It could be that there is an excessive nitrates that make algae bloom. But in my experience my fish looks healthier when there is the presence of algae. Algae becomes a nuisance when they are in abundance and they make the plants unhealthy anymore. But when they are not that many just a few on the rocks or driftwood it helps balance the water parameters.

@jobelbojel I know and understand that. I on the other hand really enjoy doing this thing. It is hard sometimes my back aches already after doing the weekly maintenance but I enjoy watching them after cleanup and the fish swim happily around the tank every week.

Oh, that's nice. When I was young my mom gave me one too which I had for many years until I finish college and finally work away from home. To this day that aquarium is still back home but not used anymore. How I wish I could get that one and used it but it's just hard to transport it here.
