The Sinovac reportedly had a low efficacy rate at only 50.4%. But this is the result only in Brazil. But Turkey reported an efficacy rate of 91.25 % and in Indonesia, it's 65.3%. While experts are studying the reason behind the discrepancy in the efficacy rates of Sinovac in different countries. A local expert, however, expressed that the Sinovac might have a higher efficacy rate here in the Philippines than in Brazil. The latter has a higher attack rate. In another article, FDA OKs Sinovac for healthy individuals aged 16 to 59 years old. https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/news/nation/776881/fda-oks-emergency-use-authorization-for-sinovac-covid-19-vaccines/story/?just_in

To be sure they should compare HOW those countries test the vaccine and on how many people.

@jrlcentral It is correct they had to rush out the vaccine and they are now really testing it. Switzerland is now administrating more doses of Moderna than Pfizer. We have the choice, we can ask to have one or the other.

I think they are going into that. However, 54% efficacy doesn't mean it's useless... those who got infected after receiving the vaccine, the virus is weaker...

@LadyDuck from what I read, the vaccine causes some adverse reactions to some persons. With the short time these companies had in developing these vaccines, they hardly had enough time to cover all the possible reactions... and if I remember it right, your country is deploying vaccines made by Pfizer?

There are lots of factors/variables that affected the efficacy of the vaccine. These variables were not available in a laboratory or controlled setting for sure...
