Neighbor Got More Than She Asked For

Saw a favorite neighbor today, the one that walks her dogs and I talk to fairly often. Also, her husband had an accident and developed a blood clot awhile back. Was out of work for weeks. He is finally back at work. Apparently they were able to dissolve the blood clot with meds. I saw her today and was asking about him. She said he is doing much better. And she asked me for the banana bread recipe. I baked a loaf and took it over right after his accident. She said he keeps talking about it. I baked a loaf and took it over along with the recipe. She was so excited and saying over and over that I didn't have to do that. But I could tell she was very happy. She said he would also be happy. Her happiness made me happy. I love your willingness to give to others. You couldn't have said it better when you said that kindness is so easy to share. Which often makes me wonder why more people don't act that way? I try to spread kindness wherever I go; I wish others would do the same. But at least I know you're out there doing it as well. Makes me feel like there is hope in the world.

@CarolDM Some people are so wrapped up in themselves that they have no idea what is going on around them. But others, they are just really busy like you said. There were times in my life where I was so busy that I didn't pay much attention to my surroundings. But thankfully I've slowed down a lot in the last few years and can really appreciate what is happening around me. And also help when I can.

Thanks! It is just who I am. I try to help others, especially those who appreciate it. Many people, unfortunately cannot look outside the box. They are so focused on their own lives. And I know many just get busy. But is doesn't take much to stop a minute to think about others.

@moffittjc So true and it is very sad to live your life like that. i cannot imagine being any different than who I am. I have always stayed true to myself. Different is what I have been called many times. And I embrace that now, would not want to have the personality of many I have seen. Glad you have slowed down as well.
