I have severe toothache

March 7, 2021 12:28pm CST
Hi! I have severe toothache from the last couple of days. I have consulted with 2 doctors. One of them said I should have to remove the infected tooth while the other one said he will root canal treatment and will save my teeth. So, I am confused What should I have to do now?

Depends on whether you want to save the tooth or not.

I want to save it, but it may cause infection to nearby teeth in the future.

@faaizulislam84 The root canal should take care of that.

Get quotes for both, and decide which you think would be better for you over all. If a root canal can save your tooth, I'd go for it. I don't know, that's just me, though.

Did they do an x-ray to make sure it can be saved?

@faaizulislam84 I would go with the one who took the x-ray. They know more details about it.

Yeah, one of them look the X-Ray and suggest RCT while the other one said it has to be removed without even look at the X-Ray

I think root canal has a disadvantage. If it is not properly done then as I have read there will be an accumulation or build up of infection inside the treated tooth. Try to search on that procedure.

@faaizulislam84 Do not worry, if things turned out not good then just go back to your dentist.

Yeah, I have also heard about the disadvantage but I have to take risk to save it as I am only 25 years old
