Now my bathtub is acting up. When I turn the shower on, the water from the faucet keeps running too. It just started recently. Anyone know how to fix it or what would cause that? The good thing about living here is we have a maintenance man who fixes everything. However, I'd rather fix things myself if it's a simple fix than to bother him.

Usually, it is just a matter of jiggling the valve that switches between the shower and the tub. Open the valve and close it several times. Sometimes it is just a bit of lime build-up that's blocking the valve from closing correctly. If that doesn't fix it, then I have no idea.

@AngelisaQT Then there is something actually blocking the action of that switch. You'll have to ask the maintenance person to look at it.

@DaddyEvil Darn, I hate asking the maintenance man to do anything. It takes forever to get done. I guess he is really busy.

When it comes to plumbing, I recommend asking your maintance man to take a look. You could wind up doing more damage and costing your place more money. Free help is rare, take it.

True, it's just he takes forever to fix something. Like months.

Whenever we get a problem like this we always look on YouTube to see how it can be put right.

If I have seen the item, of course I will find out the problem, but it's best to call a maintenance man if in doubt.

sometimes call the maintenance man better than we fix ourself. just afraid we could make it worse
