When handling a student who does not want to study, it is common that he or she does not want to read sentences in English. They will not complete the sentences and keep on saying Blah! Blah! Blah! Do not panic! You just need to divert yourself and be entertained with this kind of rude student. You just need to fill in the blanks.
How patient are you to be a clown in teaching kids?
Can you handle this kind of young learner for half an hour or an hour?

I'd be patient but I'll make sure to draw the line and warn the student not to do it again.

@allen0187 I can do it lightly. I cannot give them a firm warning because it is not allowed in my company.

Hmm... maybe. It depends on whether I like the student or not. If I like them, then yes, I can put up with quite a bit of bad behavior. If I don't like or feel some connection to the student, then no, I won't be able to teach past the bad behavior.

@DaddyEvil Well, I am not a perfect soul. I sometimes cannot sustain my patience.

@Shavkat And that's why you make a better teacher than I could. You have a lot more patience than I do.

Good approach to the problem - play the clown to make a kid learn. I never really dared this, fearing to be taken for a clown rather than a teacher. When it was one kid, I found playful ways to slowly make them learn English, letting them read song texts or jokes, and never helping in with translation too early.
But imagine you're teaching a class, and there is one, or even more of such kids... When I was a student, I had to practice in a class of 10-year-olds with one problem kid. Luckily we were a group of 3, and we were warned. So one of us cared for that special child, while another held the lesson.

Oh, my. I cannot teach students in a group online. I turned down the offer before. I can handle a one on one class. I can be a clown at random. If I can sense that he or she is being rude by shouting at me, then I need to call his or her attention.

Well, I guess that happens with foreign students and does not respect you as their teacher. I hope they get punished for this behavior so that they will take your lessons seriously. I wonder how old are your students that they behave like that.

I think I'd lose my cool rather quickly. I just don't have the ability to explain myself.
