Hi guys,
Hope you all are doing good. I am doing good too. My mom cooks really well and especially our parsi dishes. Today she made Pori a parsi sweet dish.
It takes a whole lot of labour in making it. Pigeon pee pulses are used after boiling it. Then one has to mash it properly by masher.
Sugar is added and mixed properly and continuously for some time. It's kept to cool down then. On other side, flour is taken and dough is made like that of roti an Indian bread.
Small balls are made with curve and the mixture is rolled into big balls and that mixture is kept inside this flour balls and then it's spreaded like a roti by belan. It's fried on a tawa very carefully along with ghee.
Another version of it is found in Maharashtrian food, their sweet dish is called Puran Poli however the size is small and it isn't as thick as pori.
Pori is one such Specialty in fact yesterday was our holy day of Ava month on which we keep pori on our wells and then eat at home. It's a day for eating poris. I just love my mom's pori a lot. It's really very yummy.
She makes other parsi sweet dishes also like Ravo, Sev, Bhakra, Malido, Vasanu etc. I will share with you guys that too. Have a good day. Take care!!

I have never tasted it. But it sounds delicious. Puran poli is famous in Karnataka too. I love puran poli. My neighbour will always share it with me. Now my mouth is watering

@Rashnag Actually the one in the picture does look like a heavy and filling dish. It looks more like a cake or pie.

Indian dishes are quite special. Preparations is long with lots and lots onions tomatoes and spices. I have not tasted Indian food yet but I have watched several you tube videos of Indian cooking shows.
