Photos Out in the Rain

Like a jerk, I stood out in the rain to take some photos of our new outdoor solar lighting last night. Hubby and I placed 16 lights around the front of our house to give it some landscape appeal and a few along a pathway to the backyard. In addition, we placed 8 faux pink roses around Kuma and Doodles’ grave area. They look so pretty, light up, too, and brighten their special area until I can plant flowers there. It’s a beautiful sunny day today, so perhaps I can take better photos tonight.

I'm sure it will be great landscape appeal. That's wonderful you put faux pink roses around the graves.

@just4him No, we intend to stay here for as long as possible. Now isn’t the time to buy another house in CT either.

@DianneN Good. That's a relief. For a minute I thought you were going to be like your son who buys and sells homes so fast I can't keep up.

I can only have imitation roses here, because the deer eat almost everything. Thanks so much.

I'm sure the house would look very nice all lit up. The roses are a great idea too. Have you decided what you will plant there?

Thanks, Judy. We have azaleas and other shrubs there, but the only flowers I can plant are nasturtiums and marigolds. The deer won’t eat those. I really should move elsewhere.

@JudyEv Perhaps. There are not many things left to grow here that the deer won’t eat.

@DianneN Maybe kangaroos would leave nasturtiums and marigolds alone too.

@DianneN I see the flowers. That is very nice affect for the graves. I can see it is at night when you took them. I hope during the day you can take more.

@CarolDM I have those and the woods behind them. Of course, the azaleas are half eaten by the darn deer.

I love solar lights. I bet they wil make your place look really pretty. We bought some low end ones though from Aldi and only half of them worked. I might buy some good ones this year.

I can’t wait to see how they look tonight without the rain. Even so, they looked pretty good. I have to adjust a few, too. I bought them from Amazon. They really weren’t that expensive considering. I only wanted warm lights. I didn’t even check to see what lights the roses have, but they are tiny.

Well, it looks much better than it looked all winter. When it’s safe to plant here, I will put in some real flowers to give that area color. I can’t wait for it to get dark, so I can run out and adjust some of the lights. New thrill for me.

I wouldn't call that a jerk response.. Maybe a little silly unless it wasn't raining very hard. The lights that I see look nice.

Thanks kind lady. I got soaked enough to need a shower and not my usual night time bath. Thanks! I will try for a whole house shot tonight if I can fit it on my camera.

Great picture. Lights around a home a night does make it appealing. I am sure Doodles and Kuma enjoy your visits and the flowers. We have daffodils where Buttons rests now. I talk to her everyday. Sure so miss her.

I’m sure your gorgeous flowers would look amazing! They do help light up certain areas. Here’s a garden path without our spotlights on. Real spring flowers will help my sad garden.
