Do you have a natural talent? Is it useful?

The only one thing I'm naturally good at is telling when people are lying. I've had it tested and I'm 80% accurate at detecting deception. Most people are 47%.
And it might sound great, but it's not. It's like the worst natural talent anyone can have. It's of no use. I can tell when someone's lying, but I can't prove it. And you can't just accuse someone of lying without any evidence.
I would love to be naturally good at something useful like drawing, singing or something like that.
Are you naturally good at something? How did you discover it and has it been useful in your life?

That sounds like an interesting talent. If you could prove it you'd be great in court. As for me I'm good at drawing and recently I got back into painting. The picture on my profile is one of mine. I also make cards and earrings. I hope you are well. Have a nice day.

@Lindalahughes I practise but that was one of the first I've done since I started recently. I use Frank Clarke's Have Some More Fun method.
Have - Horizon
Some - Sky
More - Middle ground
Fun - Foreground
So you draw the horizon line first, then paint the sky, then the middle ground and then the foreground. Dry each part before painting the next.
I'm not much good at trees though. I really need to practice my trees. And I'd really like to be able to do realistic looking water.

That's an absolutely beautiful picture! Did you practise or were you just naturally good?

@sharonelton That's a cool way of remembering it. Have you ever watched Bob Ross? He makes trees and water look so effortless!

That can be a useful talent, but hard to apply. I guess singing is mine. I'm not a professional, but I started singing at an early age and had a small country music band years ago. We won a few talent shows with songs I had written.

True, but I think you need someone to tell you as people aren't normally great at realising their own strengths.

I am also good at that catching out someone when they are lying and you are right its not much use to me because no one ever believes me anyway.
Biggest talent maybe writing.

It's a frustrating talent to have and totally useless unless you can prove someone is lying.

I have perfect pitch, which is useful since I teach music. I can sing without having to walk over to the piano during class and still be in the right key. It's also a curse, since people singing in the wrong key drive me nuts.

I have a natural talent for sculpting. I discovered it just by trying to make dolls and animals. It hasn't been really useful, but I think it can be if I put time into it.

I think so too, it's finding it first that is the problem.
