My sister is aging. (I am not.) She has trouble seeing to read, is wearing a patch on one eye, Dr.'s orders.
She is scheduled for a couple of procedures that require a fasting and drinking a prep, but could not read and understand it all that well, let alone shop for the stuff. I went and helped her.
I went through and put the information in chronological order. Like when to leave off certain medication. When to stop eating. I also read that they would prefer she was not a smoker. . . but she is.
Do not eat jello. No red or purple beverages (she asked about orange).
We went shopping for supplies. She walks unsteadily, so drove a cart in Walmart.
Do you know if you wear a mask, and the person talking to you is wearing a mask and is on an electric cart behind you that it is nearly impossible to hear and understand each other?
We were pretty tired after that. She wanted to buy us Arby's sandwiches for lunch. We took food home for Bob and for her friend Ron as well.
Bob and I still had to go to the library and to another store when we left there.
We carried the shopping in when we got home and have just been relaxing ever since.
Of course I made us a nice evening meal, but that is another post.

I don't know everyone else has gotten old, except me!

I am glad to help my sister, and sometimes I feel as if I am getting old.

I am concerned that they want to continue it. I always heard they stopped at 70. Also concerned that they will be doing an endoscopy as well.

If it's what I think it is, yeah, not liking it either.

Never mind not understanding people wearing masks on motor carts, I had trouble understanding what my friend was saying when she'd zoom ahead long before this pandemic happened. I kept telling her that I couldn't read her word baloons that far away...

Haha, that is funny. Certain prescription medicines in the past have made me see word balloons. Especially in my dreams.

@GardenGerty Speaking of dreams, I got vaccinated in one of mine last night... do you think I'm protected now?

I am hoping that as I age there will be someone to look out for me.

@GardenGerty I think that is something that is in the back of all of our minds as we start to age. We just want to know that there will be someone there to take care of us when the time comes.

Yes she did. She feels she can count on me more than on her daughters.

I know. I also have problem to talk to my co-worker so I have to get close and focus each time. We're still not removing the mask but we have to repeat whatever we're saying each time

I don't wear masks due to health reasons, but I do struggle to understand those who do. And, I have better hearing due to my vision loss.

I think she hears me okay. Sometimes it is hard to get a word in edgewise.
