Restless Night After Vaccine

Got my second COVID Pfizer vaccine yesterday.
Had no side effects with the first one. Cannot say the same with this one.
My arm starting hurting around 7pm last night. Not a big deal. Then the headache started soon after.
Took some Aleve and went to bed. Woke up at midnight with a splitting headache. Chills. Aching all over. Felt like the flu.
Did not sleep two hours all night. But as my Dad always said, this too shall pass.
The sunrise was beautiful this morning.
Photo is mine.

I hope you feel better by now. The symptoms usually only last 24-48 hours. It means that the vaccine is working!

@CarolDM Enjoy the sun and fresh air out there! My friend said all her friends in Hawaii got the very same side effects as you on the 2nd dose of Pfizer. Oh - they say keep hydrated. My parents and brother in law were ok for both Pfizer doses. I guess it affects everyone differently.

That’s what they say about kidney stones: “this too shall pass”. How much pain will it pass with is the problem.
Maybe it’s just “the shot.” My knee felt worse from the shot yesterday than it did before I got the shot! Lots of people have “flu-like symptoms” after getting a flu shot.
Whatever it is, I hope you feel better today!

I kept wondering when I first got ill if I was having vaccine side effects...but I think 90 percent of it was related to a UTI. I think all I really got from the vaccine was soreness at the inejection site..Feel better!

Hope you're feeling better today.
My daughter got the Pfizer on Sat and I'm hoping she doesn't get the side effects from the second shot when she goes.

Given that the memories of my own Covid experience are still fresh in my mind, I am not looking forward to getting the vaccine, even if the side effects are temporary (although I will still get the vaccine when I can). My doctor says that when I get my first shot, my body will probably react like other people's do when they get their second shot. He said me having had Covid was equivalent to other people getting their first shot. If that all makes sense.
But glad to hear that your symptoms were temporary and that you're now fully vaccinated.

@CarolDM I’ve been given clearance to get my vaccine in 3-4 more weeks.

Nice flowers. My sister who lives in New Jersey had the same side effects and she got over it too!
