@Janet357 and it's cooler because the water had been in the pail or drum unlike water from a hot pipe especially during hot summers that go direct to the shower.

@Janet357 I think it depends on how you do it, regardless if you use a shower or pail and dipper. I have a relative who needs 2 buckets. I can do it with just one. @louievill I lived briefly in a boarding house that had a water tank. The water was so hot!

I usually take a shower or bath in the morning. And just rinse before bed but that is not consistent.

You can also do the opposite. Shower and shampoo at night, rinse in the morning.

@Janet357 It varies for me as it depends but I do prefer to have a shower in the night time as I love to light a candle or two. It's dark but not so dark that I can't see because of the candles. It brings a relaxing / spa type of vibe for me.

I take a half bath at night before going to bed to wash away the dirt and any germs or bacteria I might have collected while working outside and in the garden.

I don't know but i always get headache with half bath. My hair is so thick. So when I touch it I can feel the warmness or when I do half bath, i can feel the rush to my head.

@Janet357 No, Epsom salt is different. I think it's supposed to be high in magnesium which helps relax the muscles. You can buy it at Mercury.
