I was read to as a child. My grandma instilled the love of reading in me. I've always been an avid reader. That's when I choose the books. I never cared to have to read something for an assignment. Especially if we also needed to do a paper on it. The one exception was the book we read for high school freshman English. To a Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Engaging, compelling, thought provoking. The characters & story line. Excellent film as well. Was there something you were assigned to read that you did enjoy? Which book was it?

Enjoyed 'Evangeline: A Tale of Acadie' and 'Hiawatha' in 7th grade. Loved the assigned novels in the vernacular entitled 'Florante at Laura', 'Noli Me Tangere'. and 'El Filibusterismo.' Literature was a passion. But am afraid my vision ain't good any more.

I love to read because it would bring me to an adventure. I would imagine the world and the characters from the book. Then I'll understand the plot better by imagining it while reading it. It's always an amazing journey.

I got turned off by reading. But, I remember there this this one book. A Christmas Day kitten. I can't recall the author, but I read it over and over again. I also listened to the Fudge series, too.
