I Am Turning 25

I am turning 25 in a few months and I can't seem to get my life together. People of my age looks like they are enjoying right now. I don't know social media can be deceiving. They already have families and great careers. Here I am, still having a crappy salary and still clueless about what's my next move and still no new accomplishments. I know it's not right to compare yourself to others but you still cannot avoid it. Thanks to this pandemic, my situation got worse. But I am still glad that I have a job amidst our situation.
How about you? How are you at this time?

Enjoy yourself. Today is my birthday but I feel kinda low. At 25 I was married, a kid on the way and my business was a blast. Years down I feel like I rushed into things. Now my friends are busy mothering small babies while mine are grown up. I feel out of place.

Happy birthday!
We have our own time in everything. Let's try to enjoy them. Hehe.

First of all having a job and being able to sustain it through the pandemic and beyond is an accomplishment in self. You are one of those lucky ones with jobs these dire times.

I am happy working at home doing surveys and writing good news stories.

I tip my hat to you, you must have a lot of patience to deal with surveys. Then on top of that you say you are happy. You are one lucky fellow.

I'm also 25. I have no job too because of pandemic. But I'm doing online part time jobs. I also I'm not married but I know I will soon.

You are right that we can not compare ourselves to others. This pandemic has hit jobs in all sectors. I am grateful that I have a decent one.
And social media can be really deceiving. Everyone is fighting their own battle. All that glitters on social media platforms is not gold.

You are right. That is why sometimes I just rest from social media and get away from my phone as much as possible. Having a job in our current situation is already an accomplishment itself. Kudos to all of us.

@amazingrosette Social media platforms are good but sometimes can be toxic and addictive. So better to limit our time there.

Good that you are realising it yourself. Social media is very deceiving. Everything kept their isn't real and even if it is, instead of feeling sad or jealous. Try working on improving yourself. It's just a suggestion. People don't have jobs and most importantly they are losing their lives. We should be grateful for what we have in this situation. Take care

The key to that comment is 'looks like' - as you said, social media is designed, usually to get attention or to sell something.
No one who is marketing something is going to film themselves in a negative light - and you can see from many responses and folks here, that a lot of people are struggling. Might be best not to be overly influenced by what you see - in the context of the media, both mainstream and social, its not reality.

At 25 you still have plenty of time to sort your life out. Do not believe everything you see online .

I think you're better off comparing yourself to people who are tougher than you. It might make you feel better. This pandemic has put everyone through a lot of trouble and effort. But I'm sure we'll all make it. Keep your chin up and don't give up.

Yes. Try and try until we succeed. Still not sure about my purpose in life though.
