Harry and Solomon have a new home

Yesterday, we took Harry and Solomon, our two pet sheep, to their new home. It was pretty sad parting with them but they will be very happy once they settle in. In the photo, you can see Solomon and Harry under the trees. In their previous home, they were paddocked with several horses so they were quite comfortable near the horses. We unloaded them near the other twenty-odd other sheep. There was a bit of running around, sniffing each other and pushing and shoving then we drove off to have a look around the property. When we came back, Harry and Solomon had distanced themselves from the others. But they will settle in within a few days. As you can see, there is plenty of grass for them to eat.

Oh I know that was sad for you guys. But they have a happy loving home I am sure. They look happy under the trees.

They were enjoying all that grass. There is more there than on our paddocks.

What, your new home doesn’t accept sheep? I’m so glad they have a nice big place to roam and graze!

@FourWalls That would be ideal - but if we get stuck, we'll always have scissors!

You can have pets but we thought probably best not to push the boundaries. There is a patch of lawn about 2 metres x 3 metres. Vince thinks he'll keep the ride-on mower for it.

I wondered about them when you said where you were moving. Good to know they will have a good home.

Our friend asked if she could have them which was really nice. Much better than trying to foist them on to someone.

Thanks. It was the first thing I started worrying about but then my friend asked could she have them which was a great relief.

There is more feed there than on our place. It's pretty much green all year round. But you're right. We will miss them.

May be they were a bit intimidated by all the others, but they will soon make new friends and they will be fine. I know it was sad to say farewell.

@Marilynda1225 We've been invited back but sometimes it hurts too much. I know I won't want to come back to this place although the new people are very nice and would no doubt welcome us.

Looks like the sheep are happy with their new digs. Shade trees and a lush green grass all you can eat everyday buffet... Not baaaad!

It must be sad to part away with them. But glad that they found a good home for themselves. What are you going to do with your huge beautiful property when you shift??

It hit home I guess how different it's going to be. The shed and workshop look pretty empty and now the packing boxes are starting to appear. I think we still have too much stuff but we're getting there.

the saga is so much fun, but I do understand the sadness in this moment. Thank you for taking us on this journey. I have enjoyed it (the burning and saving so far my favorite post in this series)!

@DocAndersen I had a few tears today but am fine again now. I should have made a film of it all. Tomorrow someone is coming to look at the tractor and we'll have to hook it up to the grader blade. It is a sod of a job and I had high hopes that I'd done it for the last time some time back. But it looks like we'll be doing it again tomorrow. If it helps sell it, then so be it.

@JudyEv i suspect, the actual moving process will bring back painful memories for me. Moving is never easy. but so far the saga has been delightful. I am waiting for the Indie film version to come out now!!!!
