Yesterday my wife got her second Covid shot, and today she left work a half an hour early and is now laying on the couch feeling lousy. Not all that surprised by it. I have heard countless stories of this second shot being a real doozie.
Not sure how she will feel in the morning. But hopefully it won't cost her a day off.
Going to keep dinner simple tonight. Just going to whip up a batch of fish sticks and some tater tots.
I did not get the shot, and am not going to get the shot. But I am kind of tired too and don't suddenly feel much like cooking something elaborate. So the fish sticks will suffice.

Hope she feels better by tomorrow.
But why do you not wanna get the shot?
it's important.

@Prabhatsingh Yeah. Besides, she will still get paid. Not that that ultimately matters.

I did not have problems with the covid shots but I did not feel well with the flu shot.

@porwest This is the first time I get a flu shot. I preferred to stay away from colds and hospitals.

The only time I ever got flu shots was when I was in the Navy and was forced to. I always felt like crap afterwards. The last flu shot I ever got was in 1996, and I will likely never get another one again ever in my life. And I am certainly not getting the Covid one.

@porwest I used to make fish sticks for dinner all the time when my kids were little. They loved them. Been a while since I’ve had some though.

@moffittjc Not sure how we got back into them. They are okay every once in a while. I don't want to make a habit out of them. But lately I have made sure to keep at least a box of them in the house.

Hope your wife will feel better.
Hubby has a friend whose wife told him if he doesn't get the vaccine he cannot stay at the house. He ended up getting it. He had no choice. Good thing your wife doesn't make you do that.
Neither hubby nor I are getting the vaccine so no need to worry of that happening.

@porwest I was shocked when hubby told me about his friend’s situation. That’s not right to do. It basically is an ultimatum.
On another note, hubby said his dad wants to get the vaccine. Why? Because he wants to go on a cruise and you can only go if you are vaccinated. Our neighbor told hubby the same thing. Hell no! I won’t be getting it just so l can go on a cruise. And if they say you need one to attend a concert then my 2020 Elton John concert, that was postponed to 2022, won’t happen. Nothing will make get the damn vaccine.

My wife cannot make me do anything, and likewise I cannot make her do anything. Personally I think that is an unreasonable compromise, and the ultimatum is not something I think is right. But that's just me.
This is not the same thing, but it would like me forcing my wife to do things with me sexually and telling her if she doesn't do it, she can't stay in the house.
Her body her choice. My body my choice. That's how sensible people work.

@lovebuglena I am right there with you. If something will require me getting the vaccine I simply won't do said thing.
Isn't it funny, when you think about it, that the ones pushing vaccination the MOST and are all in full support of FORCING everyone to get it are liberals?
I mean, aren't liberals all about "my body, my choice?"
I guess once again killing babies is okay, but killing anyone else is bad.
I will never understand the liberal mind.

Pretty was sick for two days after getting the first shot. I got it but only felt very hungry afterwards. I am not looking forward to the second one.

@porwest Were you aware that there is now another shot they might want us to get after this set? *sigh* It's for the new strain that's come out.
After the one Pretty and I are supposed to get May 18th, I'm done.

I am so sorry that the 2nd shot affected her that way. How was it for her with the first shot? I am sorry for all those that had a problem with the shot or shots. i had no problems. It is up to you why you do not want to get the shots. Not everyone wants to get them. I waited a long time because was not sure about them on whether they worked or not and being around too many people. It was fine when I went. Fish sticks sound good and so do tater tots.

I believe it is very real. I understand why you are not getting the 2nd one. Some believe it is not serious and others do. I have no idea if these vaccines help or not but I still wear a mask and try to stay as far away from people as I can and that is very hard because I have to go out and look for places for us to move to. It is not easy. It seems like people want to stay where they are. We cannot because it is not healthy for us as you know from what I said. I am glad that the fish sticks and tater tots were really good. How is your wife feeling now? The vaccines affect people in different ways. I had no problems with either one but others have. I had a sore arm for both but I have injured shoulders so not sure if that is from that or from the shots.

The first shot did not affect her at all, aside from having a bit of a sore arm of course. As for me, yeah...just isn't going to happen. You'd have to convince me this thing is more serious than it really is, and from what I can see, that won't happen either.
The fish sticks and tater tots were really good.

Pink Flamingoes? Are you becoming a FL fancier now too? Sorry the wifey didn't feel well. She should feel much better today. I hope. Fish sticks and tater tots sounds good. That's about the only way I will eat fish. Have a great day.

Fish sticks are only a recent re-addition to the dinner choices. Until very recently I had not had them for over 20 years. As for fish in general, I could eat it quite a lot more than I do if it weren't so darned expensive.
As for Pink Flamingoes, it is a reference to my album.

Hope your wife feels better. Me too, not getting vaccinated. Dr. Fauci said those like me, who has adverse effects of flu shots, don't get covid-19 vaccination. I'll wear masks. With news about world and pandemic, I feel safer with mask anyway.

I disagree with you, for even now so over 40% if Hawaii residents, innoculated our Health Dept. over the radio today, had a message that, we should keep our masks on, social distance yet because of the variant of covid-19 which is much more contagious. So please wear masks for safety and good health. A little discomfort to keep healthy & free of covid-19, is worth it.

I trust that your lovely wife feels better and recovers to full health and wellness again. Great thanks to the Former President Trump that the Covid vaccines were made readily available before he was cheated off the Presidency in the 2020 elections. (I think, this comment will trigger something unnice by unnice people). No matter
