Making something from nothing

Do you like the horse in the photo? We saw it on a gate at the farm where we took our pet sheep. The lady of the house has been having welding lessons and this is the result. I think it is really good.
We’ve come across similar in quite a few places in Western Australia when we’ve been travelling around. Where you or I might just see a cog or a saw-blade, those with a creative streak see an opportunity to create something beautiful. Are you one of those who can create something out of very little?

It looks very well done although I'd probably paint it to keep it from rusting.
I can make things if someone else points out that I have the stuff to make it but coming up with the idea, not really. The most creative thing I can remember making was a bamboo screen to block the sun off our front deck at the other house.
Edit to add: I wonder what her husband said when all his wrenches went missing?

@porwest You might be right. But if I made it, I wouldn't like seeing the rust taking my hard work away.

I’m not at all creative when it comes to making things. Your horse is amazing!

It's not her horse. It belongs to her friend. Unless you mean in the sense that she took the photo and the photo belongs to her... Hmm... Yes, that would work, too.
BTW, I think I forgot to welcome you to myLot yesterday. Welcome! I hope you enjoy the site and make lots of online friends here!

I see things like this from time to time in my frequent travels, and so long as they are in the right places (such as this one appears to be), they are actually quite unique and interesting to look at. There are some very creative people out there.

@JudyEv it is.
Wouldn't mind having that displayed at home.

@allen0187 They originally had it on their gate but were concerned that it might get stolen.

That's a really great horse. Very creative. No, I'm not very creative. I can do needlework and that sort of thing, but nothing like painting or sculpture.

Not much of a creative person.
But the horse here looks like a job well done.
Kudos to the maker.

I am better at restoring things to their original state. I am battling entropy on many levels. My friend and I DO go hiking to a place where there there is an incredible amount of "junk art." It's an ever-changing place to go.

You've put up some of these before and they are always very striking. We can't all be creative but you do beautiful restoration work.
