Opals. It is my birthstone, so I could be partial. I do say that though because they are varied and sport many lovely colors.

the opal is one of the most beautiful stone out there..the way the colors change in the light is awesome.

Peridot is pretty, but for green I prefer an emerald. A true emerals has the most beautiful colour imaginable

I think that many of us are partial to our birthstones! I think amethyst is beautiful. Purple doesn't occur very often in nature, it is kind of an exotic color... that's why I like it so much, I guess. It's very special, unlike any other stone, and catches the light in such a beautiful way. I also love opals - the way they change color is really unique - and also rubies and garnets. The different shades of red are so beautiful, it's such a dramatic color.
