I have not tried to bake doughnuts, but my brother and I use to fry doughnuts back in the late 70's or early 80's. It was fun to do.

I am one that likes to buy them already made. I have never attempted to make doughnuts in my life so am not one to comments on yours. I look at it for your family and it tastes good then that is what matters. Goo for you for wanting to make them right and want to keep practicing till you do get them as to how they should be.

I have made them on occassion. I actually have doughnut pans now. I will probably try making them again.

The only kind I've made are from canned refrigerated biscuits that are fried in oil and then rolled in sugar. I bet your donuts were good.
