Fresh Tomato Soup
6 tomatoes -- medium size or
1 tablespoon tomato paste
2 pound italian plum tomatoes
1/2 teaspoon basil -- dried
1 onion -- chopped
1/4 teaspoon pepper -- freshly ground
1 celery; stalk -- chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup yogurt
Cut tomatoes into wedges and place in 1 1/2-quart saucepan with all ingredients except yogurt. Simmer uncovered 30 minutes. Strain to remove tomato skins and seeds. Adjust seasonings. Garnish with spoonfuls of yogurt.

When i was younger my mother always used half milk and half water. As I got older i found that i really did not like the milk. I am not much of a creamened soup person. so now i use water. But there are times when i will add a little tomato juice and a little hot sauce now that is sooooooo yummy.

That's one of my favorite soups, although I don't like soup much unless I'm sick. I always put milk in my tomato soup though. I like to have it with cracjers or grilled cheese on the side.

I use half and half or whole milk! To make it extra silky try adding some unsalted butter.
Although I rarely eat the canned stuff (I make my own from scratch) My best friend and business partner used to work for Campbell's and she would come home with loads of the stuff!:)

I use milk and water both @ the same time, I dont like the color milk gives it so I just add enough to make it creamier

I like to mix mine up with milk. I put it all in a quart jar and shake it up really good. That way it takes any lumpyness out of it. I also, love to have a grilled cheese sandwich with my tomato soup.

Milk! I enjoy the richer flavor when made with milk.
