leftover for lunch

I like this day as it is my leftover day. My visit to my friend is kinda special. She does not invite anyone because of this Covid. But today, I am going there. We will have chitchat over a cup of coffee. I like her coffee by the way. Later, I will just buy cooked foods as I really don't like cooking today. Do you just heat your leftover or you create a new dish out of it?

Both, although I rarely have leftover food.

@Janet357 I can. I also like that I don't have leftovers often, because it means we're not eating more than we can handle.

That depends upon the nature of the dish! With breads we reheat and also the curries! If there is any left over of the rice we can either fry it or may add some curds and temper it with some basic spices which makes it yummy!

@Janet357 , we use tortillas , those are wheat dough bread without adding any yeast to it! We simply heat them up and they are again fresh to eat after that!

what about stale bread, do you also make a new pastry product out of it?

It depends on what it is. Some things are so easy to make into another meal that is totally different. Otherwise, we just reheat and eat it again in a day or two. Glad you got to visit your friend.

thank you. Egg is a versatile food. We can just add it to any leftover. Almost I meant.

These days I am deliberately saving some left over from lunch to use as dinner. Enjoy your no cooking day and visit to your friend

I would either reheat or make a new dish. Maybe adding some to fried rice or fried noodles as well.

I usually make new dishes out of them but I have noticed that Dixie just heats them. I confess I prefer them my way.
