Received an Exciting Surprise Gift

Received a surprise gift from my husband last week. A trail camera to watch the baby rabbits. Very excited. We strapped the camera to a tree in front of the baby rabbit nest. It has night vision and picks up any motion. I love it and also a little apprehensive. I get my husband to watch the video each day, in case there are any predators. I do not want to see that part. I know these babies are vulnerable to many predators. And there is nothing I can do but watch and hope for the best. Thankfully the fence has kept many away so far. Hoping the babies survive a few more weeks in the nest. They were born on May 7th. About one more week in the nest. The photo is mine, a very cool camera to have. Also picks up the birds. More photos coming soon. I have to be very careful not to scare "Honey Bunny" away. I named the momma rabbit after Bugs Bunny's old girlfriend.

This is the first time, I'm hearing about trail cameras. I just read online that trail cameras, are also known as scout cameras and game cameras. They are primarily used by hunters, but wildlife watchers and wildlife researchers find them valuable too.

Yes, there are many names for these handy cameras. Hunters and farmers use these often. And as a bird watcher, and now a rabbit watcher, it is perfect in my yard with the night vision.

I have a similar camera that I use to see what the cats are up to. There are regular visits from a fox who cleans up what the cats leave in the dishes. He times it so as to be gone before I pop out to gather up all the bowls
