Human terrarium

There’s a fashion at the moment for designing buildings with lots of glass, so as to flood the interior with plenty of natural light. This can be a really nice feature for a building in the middle of nowhere, but might not be so good for a place that is overlooked.
We saw this building, which I guess is some sort of ‘garden room’ one day when walking along the river. It made me think of a terrarium for people. You could stand on the towpath and just watch the people inside, like going to the zoo.
I wonder if the fish in the river watch the people in the glass case, just as we watch fish in an aquarium?

I guess all glass would work in places where there's not enough sun. The light and warmth would be welcome.
I don't think I can last long inside a windowless structure.

Picture me staying inside it in thunderstorm weather,I would be frightened out of my life.

@Fleura Although it doesn't conduct the lightning, you would be scared stiff -feeling you are in the open air.

glass rooms and buildings can get too hot and stuffy too and glass is quite fragile

That is very interesting, but very public too, as you say. If it is all glass with no screens, it could be quite warm on a hot day.

I had not previously heard of this but I don't like the sound of it. I was reading online about some compatriots who agreed to spend two years sealed inside a 3-acre terrarium in the Sonoran Desert. Their mission back in the 1990s: to see whether humans might someday be able to create self-sustaining colonies in outer space.

I love your idea about fish in aquariums, curiously I think they observe us in the same way. I also believe that glass architectures are a form of exhibition of human activity.
