Suntans and Sunburns

So I managed to go out without sunscreen on my arms and yup! Lol, I cooked myself a good one. I was in fantastic company with my friend, so it was well worth it. However now I find I have a "farmer tan" (tan line where a shirt sleeve is) - does anyone know a good way to "even it out" other than just sitting outside in a sleeveless top?
I managed to burn my chest ... ow! Even lavendar oil isn't seeming to fade it.
How about you?

I mostly wear tank tops (if not long sleeves when it's cold), so I have a farmer's shoulder - mostly from driving. I have all kinds of weird tan lines, and at my age, I do nothing about my mish mash sun coloring . I do put on aloe gel whenever I get heated skin - tan or burn - it won't even it out but at least it will promote healing.

@DaddyEvil
Well, you know, when it's 60s, I'm literally freezing my butt off .

@much2say 60s is my favorite!
Well, maybe used to be my favorite. It was 88F yesterday and I went out and walked a couple of miles. I barely broke a sweat. It was weird. For years now, I start sweating at 70F, while sitting/standing still... and now I don't break a sweat unless I'm really working hard.

It gets cold in California? You're ruining the way we view Californians...

I try to stay out of the sun as much as I can. Having melanoma removed once was enough for me.
Have you tried aloe vera for the sunburn?

@FayeHazel You can usually buy aloe vera gel at Walmart or Dollar Tree.

Yikes! I don't blame you. Best stay away from getting bit by the sun. I wish I had an aloe plant. So far I've been doing lavender oil

@FayeHazel Ouchy! I rarely get sunburned now because....well I hardly go outside lol but if I was to get sunburned, I mainly have a cold pack on the burn to draw out the heat. Well apparently it helps. And then have Aloe Vera to soothe and cool it down too. I wish you luck with it!

@FayeHazel You're very welcome. I hope your sunburn is going alright!
I guess to sum it up in on one word, "Depression" Don't always feel like going outside.

@VivaLaDani13 Thanks! It's almost all better now, thanks to the fact that I found some lavender oil :-)
Aww I'm sorry. Depression sucks. I hope you find a way of feeling better. Sometimes the things we want to do the least (like outside) make us feel better but I know it's not always that easy.

Well going out in a sleavless top, or taning in your own yard would do it. Well that's the healthy chemical free way, anyway.

Fake tan I think would work, but it's not something I've used personally. We've not had any harsh sun days yet this year, so it's not been a problem for me, but I usually try to avoid being in the sun too much. Mad Dogs and English men does not apply to me.
You need someone to rub soothing oil into your chest. Slowly and for as long as it takes to get relief.

Oo that's a thought. I've never used fake tan either though. Why avoid the sun? Ah yes, a nice long massage sounds nice

I have the same kind of tan.
I really want to discuss your burned chest and treatment methods but I don't think the censor would let me get away with it.

@FayeHazel Ugh! Be careful in the future. Otherwise it will ruin your skin and you will see the problems when you’re an old bag like me.

You're smart to do that. Finally it's faded out, but not before peeling. Ugh. At least it's nicer now

I don't stay under the sun after 9 am because I have allergy. I develop rashes if I am exposed to the sun. I have a natural tan color anyway because it's our color. Most Filipinas are.

Oh I'm sorry to hear of your allergy, that sounds painful. I've often thought the tan of a naturally tan person is so pretty. I'm naturally fair

@florelway Isn't it funny like that? I know a lot of people with straight hair want curly, and a lot of curly people want straight, ... seems like we just want to try something different. Anyway, I agree, don't do those whitening things, you are beautiful like you are

@FayeHazel very ironic lol most of us with darker skin wanted a fair skin. But I don't put any whitening cream lol.
