My teacher shared a very good experience of his 80 year old father. My teacher's parents live in their hometown in other state. He said that his father at the age of 80 started learning English (English is not our native language) and mastered it. And then he and his wife went on world tour all alone at the age of 80.Without their son or daughter's help in any way. Because of the tight schedule and distance their kids couldn't accompany them but this grandfather and grandmother didn't rely on anyone. And the point to be noted is that he proved that knowledge gaining have no age limit. Are you also learning soemthing new, what is it?

The saying that learning has no age limit gets proved here. Everybody can't do it. Requires some special talent.

@CuriousGab I agree with you but age factor is critical here.

@msdivkar You're right, age matters a lot.But if it is not necessary to master a new skill but to enjoy the learning process. For example if one wants to learn cooking a new dish, even if it is hard for him/her to master at this age.He/she can enjoy the process, have fun.A sense of satisfaction is more than enough.

@msdivkar But trying is always best. When I was in school we use to write one thought on balckboard and it was-try try but don't cry. One will never know his/her abilities until one tries.

This is a great anecdote to remember for times when you think you're too old for whatever you want to learn or experience. Which does happen sometimes.

@aidels I'll be glad if this motivates people to have dreams and work towards completing them at whatever age they are.

Yes one learns thing at any age. If we have desire to learn we can learn anything at any age. But there are people too who don't have that strong desire so they cannot learn weather they are young or old . Good to know about his grandfather that he didn't take anyone's help and went to a world tour along with his wife.

@sjvg1976 Yes,indeed. If one don't have a desire to learn s/he can't learn even when they are young while those with positive attitude and strong desire to keep improving can learn even when they are old.

I agree, age is a relative limit, we must accept that it affects and we cannot compare ourselves to a boy, but when it comes to learning, there will always be space in our brain, as long as there is a will to do so.

@profree2019 Yes, willingness is important. But one most not think that s/he is too old to start something now. If one is determined nothing is impossible.

That's great more so because it's difficult to start learning a new thing at that age and master it. Well done

Lovely story. Yes indeed there is no definite age for learning. Thanks for sharing. Have a good day
