Action movies are head ache. I don't prefer them instead I would like to watch a comedy movie. @prashu228

@DaddyEvil thats funny you could have told her that you get nightmares after watching the ghosts. That's as simple she would not let you watch them.

@dpk262006 When she was little, maybe 3 or 4 years old, her mom let her watch them. I always read a book while they watched them so I didn't have nightmares. When Pretty was around 10 years old, her mother and I were getting divorced and Pretty always wanted to watch horror movies... I'd rent them for her but wouldn't watch with her. She insisted I sit on the couch beside her while she watched. I would read a book while she watched. When she started a movie, she'd be beside me on the couch. As the movie progressed, she's be behind my shoulder. By the time the movie was over, she'd be behind me, watching over my shoulder. I kept reading my book.

It means that you like watch select genre of horror movies. Did you ever think what prompts you to watch a horror movie?

@aidels How you are able to get experiences from horror movies, I am not clear. Most of the horror movies are far from realities. Second reason given by you seems more interesting.

@dpk262006 Yes, I tend to be pickier when it's horror. As for why I watch horror, it allows me to experience high stakes situations in a safe way. There's this entire topic on why humans are drawn to stories that involve pretty grim themes, and horror really taps into that. Also, my grandfather loved horror and he made us watch with him. So another reason why I watch horror is because it reminds me of him.

It is nice to hear that you like to see selected horror movies and you enjoy watching those, except few ones. Did you every think what prompts you to watch a horror movie?

It is everyone's personal choice which kind of movies one wants to see, I do not like to see horror movies as it generates negativity. To meet the ghost you watch horror movies . I understand after watching horror movies you got on idea how different kinds of ghosts look and if you happen to come across anyone in real life, you could recognize him.

@sjvg1976 To me it creates negative feelings in mind, I was talking about me. It may not be same with you. I did not say that you meet ghosts if you watch a horror movie (pl. re-read my comments). Now you have an idea how ghosts look alike.

@dpk262006 it doesn't create negativity at all. By watching movies I don't meet ghost I just get an idea how ghosts look like.

@KityCat Actually, you get a thrilling feeling (coupled with fear) when you are watching a horror movie and the moment it gets over, you get a kind of relief that everything got over.

It is good to know that you do not like to watch horror movies, instead you would like to see comedy movies. When we watch romantic or comedy movies, positivity gets generated in our mind and we feel lighter.

You used to watch horror movies, albeit with your brother. I understand that had you been watching it alone, it would have been more scary. . It is good that you have stopped watching them, as it used to give you nightmares.

@dpk262006 I was just 7,8 yrs old at that time.And remote controller was always in my brothers hand. I had no choice but to watch it.

It is good to hear that you do not like to watch horror movies. You have a very valid point to make that they are false and nor near to reality. They are about superficial things/ persons, which we never come across in real life.

@profree2019 It is good to hear that you like to watch those detective movies, where you could think ahead of the plot and you feel involved in the movie. I also like to watch crime thriller and how murder mysteries are resolved.

@dpk262006 Correct friend dpk, the genre of films that I like the most is the detective and sometimes the suspenseful ones, attached to reality, in short, films that make me think, participate trying to get ahead of the plot. Regarding you, what is your preferred gender.

You should try to find out what lead you to watch a horror movie, if you could. I have no idea that there is grading also from A to Z, as far as horror movies are concerned. . What I understand from your response is that you like to watch a horror movie with a presentable story and you do not want to see a movie which has no story line but jump scares in between.

@Fa_Maverick Since childhood you are were drawn towards horror movies. May be other family members used to watch such movies and you also started liking it? Thanks for explaining about B grade movie.

@dpk262006 I've always been into the horror genre ever since I was a kid. I have a love for the dark and the occult *shrugs* Movies do have gradings B grade movie is a movie that is made with a low budget and sometimes awful actors but they can still have good storylines.
