Nope, you are not alone. I feel that though we do get some good music these days, the quality has definitely deteriorated in terms of lyrics, singing, and beats. I always have some music playing in the background when I do chores or work online. And most of them are from the golden era of the 70s, 80s and 90s

@lazydaizee Those were golden eras and the melodies touched the soul.

You're not the only one who feels that way. Is it a sign of getting old(er) or is a lot of modern music just not very good?! I've been thinking for years that new stuff (at least most of the charts and popular stuff) all sounds the same. There is some good new music but you have to work to look for it.

@lazydaizee I think that's the case sometimes. Others simply don't have the talent. One singer I really do not like is Madonna (unpopular opinion, I know) but I must admire her for how she adapts with confidence, keeping to her own style but not being all the same.

I agree that it all does sound the same . I think this is because once they find something that works, they are scared to try something different because they will lose money if the listeners do not like it.

I think our music tastes change as we get older. I am starting to enjoy the sort of music that I hated when I was growing up in the 1970s.

This is true because the new music is produced mainly for financial gain.
