What if someone hits us on the left cheek also?

The Lord Jesus Christ says " If a person hits you on the right cheek, then show him your left cheek " But what are we to do if the person hits us on the left cheek also? Since Jesus does not mention anything about that, I guess we can do anything we want to.

I don't know, maybe I'll make use of the law of retaliation which also happens to be in The Bible: an eye for an eye. Someone hits me, I hit them.

I always thought that Mahatma Gandhi said that. Are you sure Jesus Christ said it?

@myklj999 Oh! Thanks for sharing it. Actually, Mahatma said that too and we have often read that while reading stories about him. Seems he quoted Jesus there.
