"New" Furniture...

Photo I took of my "new" dresser

I was supposed to get a new dresser today at 4:30, but then I got a call from the pastor's wife, saying the pastor had to use his truck to go and get a motorcycle, so they'd be an hour later. Okay. So they came, and then we had to find the place, and then we had some trouble because there were two of the same number on the street, but the place with the dresser was on the west end (of course we went to the address that was on the east end first). Anyway, we finally made it to the right place, I looked the dresser (which they had left by their front porch) over, and it had a few dings in it, but it seemed solid, so I took it. The pastor's wife said I should sand it down and repaint it, but I don't know when I'd be able to do that. Until then, it's fine the way it is. Tomorrow I'll be able to start putting things in it.

I wouldn't paint it. I would restain it. I hate this craze where everyone strips furniture and paints it. It almost looks like a desk!

Yes, re-staining it would be better.

The main thing is that the dresser is in your home :)
