Never heard of durian? It's the king of fruit here. You can eat them just like that, make fritters, dessert or eat with sticky rice. Some might saw the smell is terrible or the taste is weird. Well, I love it My uncle gave us a few durians today. Mom made sticky rice to eat with the fruit. That was my dinner for tonight. Supposedly durian price is way too expensive right now, so I'm really glad he gave us a few of his fruit. Image of durian from Wikipedia.

Oh yes it's the durian season, apparently. But yeah the prices especially for Musang King are pretty crazy.

I drink water... It's more popular to eat with sticky rice or just like that here. Though some would prefer to make a dessert more or fermented it as well.

My Burmese friend cut a durian up and gave a sample (wrapped in many layers of plastic wrap so I wouldn't be bothered by the smell). But it didn't smell that bad to me! She said everyone in her house runs away when she she cuts a durian. Interesting to have that with rice for dinner!

For me, it smell really nice. But if you're buying one, don't close the windows and run the aircon of your car. The smell would stick for a very long time. You might get headache from it.

What is pi ape ? No, you don't need to cook the durian, only cook the sticky rice. We eat the durian raw with the sticky rice.
