The $5.00 Buffet Has Re-Opened

Awhile back I used to share with you that a favorite place that offered a buffet every day for only $5.00. Sadly it was closed, due to COVID. A family owned business could not make enough to stay open through the pandemic. I heard from a friend they have re-opened in another location. The $5.00 buffet is back. Yes! And they now have someone who serves you the food, with all of the food covered. This should ease any fears anyone has, including myself. Cannot wait to return to have more of what is in the photo above. This photo was taken last year. Fish with all of the trimmings. All homemade food.

How can they possibly make money with such a low price?

They are always crowded and were in business for over 20 years.

@CarolDM , Still, at this very low price, they can hardly make a profit

@marlina They made a profit or they would have closed a long time ago. If you get enough crowds of people, at $5.00 a piece, it adds up. They were doing fine.

@CarolDM The pandemic has ruined a lot of businesses. So so glad they opened even though it is in a new location. I am glad for you that you can go and they cover the food so it should be safe now.

I've heard about buffets changing how they operate. We haven't gone into our favorite place in over a year and a half. I thought about just popping my head in to see how the place is being run. I don't know when or if we will feel comfortable going to a restaurant; especially when they are so good, popular and crowded.

Good to hear that. Lots of small businesses had to be closed down because of the pandemic. Well I'm sure they definitely make profit of it. I did have Asian buffets for $5.00 few years back right in NYC, at places where the Asian community dwell.

In a way, this pandemic has opened a takeaway culture even in places where people used to dine in. That has also led to cheaper outlays on food.
