I am TIRED of fireworks!

So, where I live there are people who set fireworks off from May to September. Nearly every night!! They set them off with no rhyme or reason--sometimes they start in the afternoon, sometimes around dinner time, sometimes at dusk. And they go on for hours and hours...it's not unusual to hear them from 1-3AM.
Police are short staffed and only go to the fireworks calls if they aren't at an accident, a shooting, or a domestic disturbance of some type. People complain, their babies are screaming, many people with PTSD are in agony, and the ones that set them off do not care. Not one little bit.
Personally, I wish they were not available to anyone in the US, or only allowed on the 4th of July. I am normally not bothered by noises. But these constant, huge booms are really hard on the nerves.

I typically enjoy the sound of fireworks. The only time it's a problem is on the Fourth, itself. In which case, it's annoying only when my husband needs to get up and open the next day. Like he does this year.

Yes, I remember having to get up early and not being able to sleep because of them. But we have had them for two months now, it's exhausting.

We get those neighborhood firework noises like a couple weeks before and after July 4th, or New Years. Last year we heard them during the day and I don't know what that was about. This year we have heard less of it but still . . . sounds like gunshots and I hate it. Besides the noises, we can't risk igniting any more wildfires out here .

Yes, a few years ago someone was setting them off and one caught a house on fire. It burned to the ground.

Oh, wow! Not good, to evacuate due to carelessness with fireworks.

@MarieCoyle Yah, I guess it made national news as there is a video of the crazy big explosion. If there were potentially any more fireworks that survived, you would see why the evacuations were necessary .

@MarieCoyle You can't blame them. My husband wanted to go back part time and I told him no way in _ell.
They should all resign. They are not paid enough for the disrespect they put up with.

I agree, but unfortunately a lot of cities and towns have police departments that are now understaffed.

Not just disrespect, but danger more now than ever. I totally agree.

Not to mention at least some of us often wonder, is it gunshots or is it fireworks? Which is pretty scary.

I understand that they are going to set them off on the 4th of July weekend. I can live with that. It's the last 2 months that have been too much. And then last year, not sure where they bought all of those fireworks during a pandemic lockdown, but we put up with them until Labor Day weekend. Every night unless it was raining.

It's coming to hear them here much of the summer months too. It's too bad people don't need a license to use them for personal use as many don't make good choices like your said.

@MarieCoyle it's not always that often here but we live near the police station. Maybe that helps.

I understand and enjoy them on the appropriate day for them. But not for 2 months straight!
