Reading Good Books

Do you enjoy reading books? What types of books do you like? Do you prefer a printed book, an audio book, an e-book, or a variety? Do you like regular books or graphic novels?
I love reading all kinds of books. I like memoirs. Right now I'm reading "Quivers" by Robin Quivers of the Howard Stern Show. I'm also reading "That Evil Thing", a recent retelling of Cruella DeVil's story. She is, of course, the villain from "101 Dalmations". I also like sappy Regency romance novels with ridiculous plot lines.
I like print books best. But I'm also starting to enjoy audio books. I can listen to them as I work at my computer throughout the day, or I can start one and start walking in my office as I listen. I love that -- twice as productive! I get my step count up and get to hear a good story, too. The audio book I'm currently listening to is "Trejo" by Danny Trejo, a.k.a. "Machete". In e-books I have "Hocus Pocus and the All-New Sequel" on my Kindle app, but I really don't get to read e-books that often. Only if I'm stuck in a waiting room or something.
I don't particularly care for comic books or graphic novels, although I think they are good for kids who may struggle with reading regular books. For me it is just too much visually to take it in and be able to focus on the text.
What about you?

Printed book only for me. I tried reading an e-book once and did not like the experience. I prefer holding the book in my hand, flipping the pages. And I like the book smell as well. I love to read poetry books, novels in verse, and novels. Genres vary for novels. I love YA books, paranormal, fantasy, sometimes sci-fi or romance. But if a book is interesting to me it doesn't matter what genre it is. I will read it.

@soulkissed2003 I've always wondered how people read books on their phones. Screen is not big enough for that I think.

I used to have trouble looking at the screen for e-books but with a newer phone it is easier on my eyes and doesn't bother me any more.

another nice hobby of yours. i prefer real books and reading over listening to a book - but i think that's good too, i can't focus on just listening. i would like to read more of manga, but i never do. i usually read classics or professional literature.

If I am trying to do much else at the time, I will lose focus on an audio book. Sometimes I do my walking while an audio book is playing and then I can stay on track with what I'm hearing. But even in the car just driving I will miss a couple of chapters because my thoughts wander!

@aureategloom right now the audio book I'm listening to is "Trejo" by Danny Trejo. He's had a hard, interesting life. I like personal memoirs but I also like a lot of other things like YA fiction, silly Regency romance novels, science fiction and fantasy.

I prefer printed books because my eyes ache if I stare at a screen for too long.

We look at screens so much any more. My phone has some kind of reading mode but I don't really notice a difference.

I’m such a bookworm. I love to read!! I prefer books cause of a backlit screen, and it bring compact, but I also love a good old fashioned book. Hubby & I managed to get extra copies of done meaningful books, and we’re giving them to Hugh when we go to church on Sunday.

I have never really gotten into audio books, but I do enjoy both printed and e-books. As a bibliophile, though, I must say that e-books will never be able to take the place of physical tomes; the experience is just so different, and there are certain types of books that really do not read as well in e- format.
I rather like graphic novels. Some stories are best suited to the format, and even classic stories get new life when translated into it.
I have several books started, but the one that I am actively working on finishing reading right now is Tony Hillerman's "The Blessing Way." On the back burner is a political book and a population health book. My taste in books is rather varied.

If I hadn't been turned off to reading, I would've gone for e-books or audio books. Being blind, printed material isn't an option. Now a days I only read if I get something in return. Reading a discussion to post in it. Reading fan fiction, just to emerse myself in a fictional world based on my favorite characters... It is more relatable to me, because the place I read is free-of-charge, and not everyone's a grammar notsie.

I read a lot... I prefer printed books, but don't have the room for the 17 totes of them that are stored in my garage, so switched to reading ebooks on the Kindle app. (Last year I offered to share the ebook site I use with anyone who was interested... b-ok.cc ... You can download five free ebooks a day or, if you give your email address, you can get ten free ebooks a day.)
I average 200 books a year, according to Reading Insights in the Kindle app.
I will read anything except biographies and autobiographies... I prefer fiction and fantasy.

I aim for about 1 book per week but I usually about double that. I think now that I am walking to audio books it will be more than usual this year. We'll see!
