So we have no winter here, but we have rambutan season
I think we have around 2-3 rambutan trees in the backyard. One near the house but that one still haven't ripen yet. The fruits still green. The one near the woods are starting to turn red one by one.
Mom picked a basin full of the fruit yesterday. She planted the trees for her grandchildren to enjoy them (yes, her grandchildren) Unfortunately we're still in travel restriction so none can come home.
Image is mine. That's rambutan, in case you never see it. The flesh is like lychee. It's sweet and juicy.

I was told by @DaddyEvil it's grown in Florida and in parts of California. This way you can get them locally and at cheaper price compared to imported fruit.

Walmart in my area are selling them right now. They are expensive, but worth the cost to try them.

Rambutan and lychee are okay. They aren't my favorite fruit, but I will eat them. (I think they're being grown in the most southern parts of the US but am not positive of that.)

Never seen or heard of them. How, do you eat them, with all those spikes on them?

We have them here on Oahu, ethnic stores like Oahu Market. It's expensive, over $4 a pound so far when I see them.

Oh! rambutan is very sweet we have that in the Philippines. But, I've seen that in Langkawi Island when I visited Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi last 2017.
