If We Didn't Need Money, What Would Motivate You To Do Anything?

Ah yes, it seems I have gotten over my writer's block because of the writing site I found. Man money can indeed make us do a lot of things. Which made me think of this question. What would motivate me to act on something if I didn't need to earn money for a living? Would it be a better world if we were all just going about our lives without needing to spend on anything? Would that be nirvana? For people in the rural areas, it is easier to live without spending much. You just plant food and tend to some animals and voila you're alive! Until you will need something else like clothes or whatever then you won't worry abt staying alive. I still don't have an answer to this question so maybe you have one? Care to share your thoughts?

If money has never been a thing at all, my primary motivation would probably be that thing that separates humans from other animals: the desire to create.

Interesting question! I think love is the best motivator of all, much more powerful and important than money. Necessity is another motivator. I have to urinate and so I get up out of bed. Interest is another motivator. I enjoy learning things and so I read or talk to people to learn things. Pleasure is another one. We do things because they give us pleasure.

All 3 except for love is indeed plausible. For love, some people can't grasp it's concept so it will be difficult for some people to be motivated by it.

@owstalaga Yes, love as a motivator is not understood or appreciated by many. Of course, when one is in love, that will motivate a person to do many things.

If people went about their life and no one needed money, who would provide the foods we eat and the products we use? If you had no need to work and everyone can be consumers, who will work to supply the people?

Yes that's true. People do bad things just because of money. We also do good things with it but you know we humans always focus on the bad instead of the good. Perhaps it's time to change that.
