It's happy day ya'll and the beginning of the weekend! I know all of you who are working are in agreement with that! I have always loved Fridays and still love them even now when I am retired.
Today's plans got thrown for a loop with a little surprise of being offered retail space in a store that supports small businesses and those in direct sales. Their current representative was not stocking shelves and customers were complaining, so she got the boot when my cousin told the owners that she has a cousin in this company and that I had inquired about space there. I'm super excited and started selecting which products I would initially stock in the store. This is limited to stock I have on hand, but I am betting that I come close or over what the previous representative had in the store.
I will be going to talk to the owners this afternoon and view the store and space available. The shop is not far from our house in Louisiana and my hubby was going to mow the grass today so I will tag along. Hubby is happy because he is always saying the "farm aid" stuff needs to go. The name of the company is Farmasi and pronounced "pharmacy" but he thinks he is making a funny joke with the farm aid comments.
I'm super excited because I missed my retail vibes from the antique store where I sold both antiques and Jewlery in Candles several years ago. I started pulling items last night that will go into the store and I aslo started a new order of a couple of items that will be very popular and need to go in the store. Right now we are only going to concentrate on makeup and skincare but hopefully I will be able to add a few more lines in the coming months. I'm sure they want to see how I will work out before letting me go "all in" so to say.
I will either set up tomorrow on Saturday or wait until August 15th. I'm ready to go though and super excited. I will have to devote one day a month to work in the store for an 8 hour shift or two days with a 4 hour shift. This is something I have haven't done in years--working in a retail environment. Back in my early 30's I worked Dillard's for Clinique cosmetics as model/spokesperson. I did not have to check customers out, just engage with them and help them. This will all be new to me, but I will get used to it.
Do you have any fun plans for the weekend?

Great news to hear! Sounds like you have an entrepreneurial spirit! I have always loved retail, and found that I have always been great at selling things. I should have been a salesman, but I have too much honesty and integrity! lol
I hope your store succeeds!
Happy Friday!

@moffittjc I'm a little upset now with the anniversary sale this coming Saturday. We will be in Biloxi all week long and I won't have my stock coded to put out or have the time to spend a day or two doing this before Saturday. I guess I will just suck it up and be ready to roll or get ready to roll the following week. I am just missing out on a lot of exposure and traffic in the store...pout.

I have always loved selling too and have been in several direct sales ventures. My last one with Jewelry In Candles worked out very well. I had a great team and was up to Director status when the company shut down due to the owner getting caught having an affair and divorce forced the sale of the company. This guy opened another business and wanted everyone back. I told him no with no regrets. I didn't want anymore surprises. And I loved the industrial safetywear sales too from long ago. I know what you mean. This company I'm with now offers 30 day money back guarantee if not satisfied and the products are all made with European standards and better than most from USA.

This is great! Keep us posted as you get set up. Best of luck! We will be going out tomorrow to get another copy of our COVID-19 vaccination cards; and then we will go out to eat at Red Lobster.
