Do you have this problem?

There are a lot of frustrating things in life, but Facebook is going to push me over the edge.
I have Googled it, spent way too much time and effort on it (because we know there's no way to ask FB directly, that would make life much too easy), and still don't have an answer.
The issue: when I try to type a comment, FB thinks it knows better than I do what I want to say. Then it is so aggravating trying to take out the words it typed that I just give up and delete the whole comment.
Am I the only one this bothers? Should we just mindlessly let Facebook do our thinking for us?
Oh, wait. We already do.
Anyone have this problem? Any solutions? Thanks.

@xFiacre You haven't missed a thing. I only joined because my kids were posting things that I hadn't heard about.

Turn off predictive text and auto correct on your end.
I have never heard of FB using that program.

It's just been a minor annoyance for me so far because it rarely pops up when I'm typing. I've just ignored the blue bubble that pops up to approve the suggested text so far. Went digging in the app settings and I have absolutely no idea where that "feature" is hiding in the menus.

I've noticed that FB has corrected some of the comments I've been trying to make. One is that it corrects the spelling of my granddaughters name every time I type it. Even if I correct it FB decides to correct it over and over and the comment goes with the mispelling. According to FB my granddaughter has a different name

@yukimori I just want it to quit. I want to type what I want to type, not what they think I want to type.

That's just wrong. It would probably be easier to legally change her name.

@1creekgirl
I have friends that have been in Facebook jail because Facebook does like what they type but lets others get by with what they say and is right what they do. Facebook does not care at all.

I rarely get on FB any more. There should be a setting somewhere to turn off the auto correct. I am looking and will let you know if I find the answer. I know you can turn it off on your phone, but not sure if it is off on FB when you do that.

@1creekgirl Sometimes some sites will not allow you to change certain things. I looked in all of the FB settings and didn't see anywhere to change it.

@1creekgirl For typing I think there is no problem on FB.

It's not links, just they want to complete my sentence as I'm typing a comment.

Yeah, I noticed that happening to me too. Now I just pay closer attention to what I'm writing.

@LadyDuck We got rid of our landline years ago and saved about $40 a month. No one ever called us on it except telemarketers.

I see you've already gotten the answer you need. I hope you don't have any more trouble.
I just don't use anything on Fb. Things are much easier that way.

It's not Facebook doing it. It's the inbuilt spelling check in your mobile or the auto correct in your laptop that does it.

No. I have all that turned off in my phone. It happens on my husband's phone only in FB also.

@1creekgirl if it's the fb, maybe try uninstalling the app and then reinstall it.
