How often do you repeat the same food?

I can do it three days in a row. I steam the food and it tastes as good as fresh.
My thinking is if our pets can eat the same food 365 days in a year what's the big deal repeating it just for 3 days in a row.
This process saves a lot of time in the kitchen which we can use for other urgent tasks around the house.
Do you eat fresh food every single day?

We sometimes freeze portions to have on another day but we can also have very similar meals two or three days running. If we roast a big joint, we might have it two days running then use up the rest in fritters or mince it for a pie.

With the facility of freezing and steaming that should not be a problem. It saves a lot of time that one would spend in the kitchen if there is every day cooking.

If you have spare time you may as well use it.

I can understand if you eat the same food every day but three days should not bore you. I does not bore me.

I prefer to freeze them in batches and eat them once a week maybe.

You need to have atleast 7 dishes frozen if you eat one each every day

Sometimes yes. My "breakfast" and "lunch" are usually the same daily. Dinner I tend to rotate. Sometimes, like tonight/last night, my husband will suggest something for dinner and that's what we end up eating.

I would not eat the same food for breakfast and lunch but eat the same food the next couple of days.

I make my main course a head of time for about 3 Sabbaths and freeze them and take out when I am ready to and then make other things that are fresh and sit in the refrig till Friday comes along. There are times I just find whatever is in the home and eat it and for Friday, Saturady and Sunday most of the time I have food from my Sabbath to eat and sometimes on Monday too.

Since the fridge and steaming takes care of freshness it is fine to repeat.

Sometimes we only cook enough food for one meal, and sometimes we eat the same type of food two days in a row. If there isn't enough food for another meal of the same type we combine the leftovers with another type of food.

@allknowing We usually find a way to use the leftovers, and sometimes it is nice to that we don't have to spend a lot of time on cooking.

The fridge is our saviour as it keeps the food quite fresh and I steam the leftovers that makes it even fresher.

They must be ordering from outside and not cooking themselves.

When I make food for dinner it usually ends up being for one day; sometimes for two. If I make soup then it lasts for probably five days, if not more. I don't mind eating the same soup for five days, especially if it is cabbage soup, chicken soup, mushroom soup, borscht (hot beet soup), or holodnik (cold beet soup).

As long as the food is kept fresh no issue with repeating it.

If you steam the food gets back its freshness. Yes Hyderabad dum biryani is laborious and takes eons but eaten within minutes (lol_)

If there's leftover from today's dish, we still eat it tomorrow until we finish it. However, it does not reach three days for us to finish a dish. And the dish I cook is usually just for the whole day, tomorrow is the most. I don't mind cooking every day if I have to. People here want variety and tend to get bored and lose appetite with the same food eaten for days consecutively especially if it's not a favorite dish.

Not for days and not beyond 3 days If our pets can eat the same food for 365 days I think 3 days is not much (lol)

Certainly not every day but we do eat and drink certain items everyday. I have tea, milk, curds and a few other things every day - like rice

Three days is about right.
I make large amounts when I cook and if I can't freeze it, it's for dinner until it's gone lol.
I may make fresh bread or vegetables to go with it but when I make a hot dish, I'll have it 2 or three days in a row.

It depends on the food. Some, maximum 2 days in a row because longer than that they just don't taste that nice anymore. Others can last much longer especially when refrigerated or frozen.

You have a point there. Some left overs taste better with time.
