A Whole Pot of Coffee (will it be enough)

Happy Thursday Everyone! (it is Thursday isn't it?)
I am sooo tired after a wild night of weather. Mother Nature was throwing a tantrum it seems. Okay..maybe it was just the remnants of tropical storm Fred moving through.
We had heavy downpours
Thunder (not the sonic booming kind that shake the house but constant rumbles)
Lightening (fierce stuff that really lit up the sky)
and the icing on the weather cake....tornado warnings!
Day started with tornado watch but by late night it was an actual warning and my phone was constantly going off with alerts.
Needless to say I didn't get much sleep and the only salvation is my coffee. I'm sitting here with one eye open and the other half closed.
Thankfully all is well this morning and whatever was going on during the night is over. It was pretty scary and usually bad weather doesn't bother me.
We didn't get any significant flooding, no trees are down and we still have power and internet. Surrounding areas aren't so lucky.
I'm glad I don't have anywhere to go today and can enjoy taking a much needed nap.

The change is weather always affects my knees and today they are really painful.
As for tornado warnings they do make me anxious. Until the last year or so we never had tornados here.

@Marilynda1225 The change in weather affects my right arm, the elbow I broke when I was a kid gets very painful. Today I am having a hard time typing, this does not sound good.

@LadyDuck I'm sure as the weather changes your arm lets you know. I can always predict bad weather (especially snow) by my knees. Hope the pain subsides in your arm and it isn't anything more serious than the weather

It certainly was unsettling. Usually storms don't bother me but lately they've been pretty wicked.

We finally saw the sun late afternoon. Looks like a new hurricane is coming up the coast and heading toward New England.

Tornado warnings are new to me so it makes me seriously scared that it might rip through my community. Thankfully we don't have any trees that can fall on our houses but plenty that can take down power lines along the main roads.
Don't you get scared when you get those warnings all day long?

@Dena91 I've always been fascinated by weather especially hurricanes and blizzards. I hate the destruction they cause but it's still fascinating. Being a storm chases is definitely not a job I'd want nor would I want to be a meteorologist standing outside while the storm is brewing broadcasting the news.

@Marilynda1225 Yes especially when it says there is a confirmed tornado 7 miles from us. But I am also fascinated by the power of storms, not that I will go chase after one.

It is currently raining here in our place tonight after being sunny all day.
Lots of thunder and lightning as well. I hope it doesn't rain throughout the night so it doesn't flood.

Besides being anxious and losing sleep it took me until mid-afternoon to get my wits about me. My granddaughter came over again and I think she's just procrastinating about getting her stuff together to go to school this weekend. After being home since the lockdown it's almost like starting college all over again.

that storm was wild - we ended up with less fireworks in the sky and more rain. now, the weather people are saying we could get up to two inches, today!
