The Last Tomatoes for the Season

Just got a knock on the door. A bag full of fresh garden tomatoes from the sweet neighbor. He said there were only a few left on the vine. And that is it for the season this year. They have been really good. Nothing beats a garden fresh tomato. There is enough to make several sandwiches and maybe a few salads. He is such a sweet man. And he said next year he should have a bigger garden. Already making plans for next year. It keeps him busy he said. He shares with other neighbors as well. Photo is mine.

I like the tomatoes that ripen on the vine better than the tomatoes bought in the store. They taste better to me.

What a nice gesture and nice man! I foresee several good tomato sandwiches in your near future!! I noticed ours have gotten so tall that several have fallen over and the stalk has broken. This is past the stake that they are tied to. Next year we need at least six foot stakes!!

Surprised he won't keep getting tomatoes..Back when I had them in a protected area in my last house, I was pulling little ones off until almost December. It was wild. I most have covered them when the frost came.

The tomatoes look fresh and the color is even, no wonder if your neighbors are busy taking care of them, the care takes patience and consistency. Cool. You're so lucky

You are so lucky to have a good and friendly neighbor. Our neighbors here in my place are mostly snob and mean. They are also my type, why bother for neighbors like them, waste of time.

He is a kind neighbor. I am glad you have one another. I went to a local produce market and bought some for Mike. All most all of their products are grown in our county. I like supporting our local farmers.
