I get embarrassed on here. I don’t like to appear immodest or make anyone feel bad. By now, my friends must know that my husband is quite successful and money has never been a problem for us - at least since the kids have graduated college, grad school, and law school.
Some are curious about the jewelry hubs bought for me yesterday. Keep in mind that it was for our two wedding anniversaries - this year and last year.
The photo is a pic of my gorgeous earrings. I usually wear yellow gold, but have been into white gold and platinum lately. Only had a tiny bit of the latter. So hubs is helping me build a collection. The photo sux, but these are stunning and large. Each stone is set individually and of the highest quality.
The great thing is that we bought the earrings and an amazing ring from our younger son’s jeweler. The jeweler went to high school with our older son and knows him, too.
Next, waiting for some bracelets to check out or to further discuss a design to be made up.
I’m a lucky and well-loved wife, mommy, and grammy. I take nothing forgranted.
I hope you like my earrings. My ring is just as stunning. I love crap like this

I know you love your jewelry and you are very fortunate to have it. They are pretty but a bit too much for me. I have diamond studs and I'm good with that. I used to wear pearls in my second holes but one of the earrings broke and I haven't had it fixed yet.

I’m a “mature” woman who likes the finer things in life as opposed to the microscopic stuff hubs used to buy me when that’s all he could afford back in the day. I’ve always been thankful. Sorry about your pearls breaking. I have two piercings, too, in each ear.

@NJChicaa So true, but I’m honest and the first to admit I love stuff. I have a 5 carat diamond with 1/2 or 3/4 baguettes on each side and smaller diamonds on the band. To top it off, I’ve been happily married to the most wonderful man on earth in my opinion. One happy marriage. Yes, we all have our own styles, likes, and dislikes.
I’m posting this due to friends asking me what hubs bought for me. To me, the more the merrier. Actually, we have to add a codicil to our will. Don’t want the kids fighting over my jewelry collection.. Waiting to hear back from our attorney.

@DianneN You don't have to justify your taste. We all have our own styles. I'm pretty conservative in my dress and jewelry. That will always be the same whether I am poor or married to a millionaire. Just not me.
A coworker of mine got married with like a 3 carat ring. She then had 4 sons and insisted on being upgraded to a 4 carat one. She even was up to 4.5 I think and then they got divorced. She loves her bling though.
We all have our things.

You are welcome. But somehow my family members don't seem to concur on this observation these days.

Frankly things were much better some 10 + years back but then we ran into some problems.
Yet hopefully the things would be better in the coming times.

I’m not one of those people who covets or hates wealth in others. You worked for it, and there’s not a person badmouthing “the rich” (or the well-to-do) who wouldn’t trade places with ‘em in a heartbeat. So it’s not “the rich” they hate, it’s the “I’m NOT rich.” Complaining about it isn’t going to make them any wealthier, and will definitely make them a pauper in their soul.
Okay, enough pontificating. They’re nice, and you’re blessed to have your hubby! But you know that.

@DianneN — I bought my “dream car,” a Honda CR-V. Shows you where I am on the materialistic spectrum.

Thank you! I agree with everything you said. For me, it’s just my lifestyle and how my father treated my mother. I expect no more nor no less. I’m the first to admit I am materialistic. Can’t help it. I just love things of beauty.
Thanks so much. Hubs is too generous to everyone and is teased about it, but that’s just how he is. He’s a giver and doer. It makes him happy. It makes me happy, too

Thanks so much, Kharla. You know there are always the nasty jealous types out there, so I was hesitant about posting it. I won’t post my ring, but my earrings excited me so much that I had to share with my friends who wanted to see them. Can’t wait to wear them somewhere.

@kobesbuddy I totally agree, but there will always be the haves and have nots. Losers - all of them and oh so petty.

I am itching to wear them. Our son stopped by yesterday to see what we bought from his jeweler friend and was so pleased. He told me I was spoiled rotten
Yes, and chairman of two departments and a consultant among other things. Thank you. I won’t show the ring here.

they are beautiful! my wife bought me a second wedding ring for our 25th and this year she got me the best present (a new set of golf clubs) we do the same thing, sometimes combining anniversaries for a couple of years and spending a little more.
nothing wrong with what you're doing!

Thanks, Scott. Kind words from you.
Congratulations on your 25th wedding anniversary! Your gifts are perfect!
Told hubs several years ago not to bother exchanging gifts, but instead to travel. The pandemic and terrorism put a lid on that.

A thing of beauty is a joy forever, wrote John Keats. Enjoy the gifts you husband pampers you with.
Alas, I am not one for jewelry. I wear diamonds on occasion, the hand-me-downs considered as family heirlooms. But if I have my way, I'd rather not. My daughters, professionals now, to this day, have ears intact. Never pierced.

@DianneN True. Remembering Pocahontas' bedazzling beauty as she said she wore the jewels because the stones are meant to be seen and appreciated.
Sharing something that brings joy to the heart uplifts the spirit. As they say, a beauty is a sight to see especially for the tired eyes.

As long as you like to share, I see why you should not May be some people will feel jealous and there is no reasons to be. Your earrings are beautiful and I always liked more white gold and platinum than yellow gold. I am into rings, but I never wear earrings.

@DianneN I had several yellow gold jewels when I was young. My husband always liked platinum more than gold, my engagement ring was platinum and diamond and also our wedding bands were platinum. Every times he offers me something is platinum.

I’m not going to share my ring, but thanks for understanding and thanks for liking my earrings.
Yellow gold seems to go well with my hair and coloring, but the last few years I’ve come to love the look of white gold and platinum. I’m going to make mysel “rock” it!
